Power to the smoothie

Note to self: I do not like Vanilla Life's Basic Plant Protein Powder.

Got up this am at 6:30 in my own bed! Nice and cool of course. That seems to help a lot. Then I played with downloading music from my ipad, managed to get it to transfer to my ipod, THEN made a new playlist to run to this am.

So then I RAN C25K end of week 7. Pixar came along. I stopped a few times and had to walk the big hill, but that was my biggest break. I felt fast but honestly need a timing run without the dog. She is such a hellion tho that the runs help calm her down! Came home and switched dogs. Pedometer says block walk is .65 miles. So minute exercise challenge is already 80/850.

Weight: #179.2.

Yes, here is an example of how calories in = calories out does not explain everything! I have a fair amount of chores planned for today so I will be pretty active on the steps and moving around. In fact, I better get to it.

I am really thankful for the Georgia O'Keeffe clouds I spotted on my morning run. It was wonderfully cool! AND I am super thankful to see the 170's. I am hoping to see them steadily go down!

Eating like a lawn mower

At night I can systematically eat too much. MFP is catching my bad habit.

Tried to run C25K tonight but Pixar gave out. I only ran about a mile, wound up walking another 3.67 with her and Pnut. I now know i am running solo. Will try to run Thursday. Hair cut and color tomorrow night...

Garage sale prep going well, but it takes up a lot of time... Patience!

Minutes 160/850

Weight check this am - #179.2.

I snapped awake at 5 am. I haven't woke up feeling refreshed like this in years. So I got up and got ready to go to work! Make up some of the time I have been missing with summer scheduling of DS.

Hair cut and color tonight, so no exercise. Any free time will go to readying for the garage sale.

Main goal of using MFP going well so far...

6/7

Made it into work at 7:30 today. Yay!

Weight- no change. MFP still noting the fact I am snacking TOO much at night.

Tonight I am supposed to run. I think I might try to get it in though it is going to be tight.

I have walked twice at work today with 2 different buddies. 20 min first round and 30 the second! I really should not, but I have been rooted in my office chair all week and figured I had better celebrate my freedom today...

6/11 Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend has been a real gift. The weather was beautiful for our garage sale. A TON of people were out and we sold a lot of our items and made a nice cache. We then took two loads to Goodwill. Don't forget I took a carload to our church a week before our garage sale! Then one large item we could not get rid of disappeared with the free listing on Craigslist! Yay! I did not have to lift it again! The old TV was rained on today, but I found a free electronic recycling event happening THIS Saturday, so that will be gone shortly too!

There were some items that squeaked back into the house. BUT I took pictures of them and have posted most of them on Craigslist. If that does not work, I will try Ebay for the first time.

So, I did a lot of steps and work on Friday and Saturday so I allowed myself 30 min exercise each of those days. I hit 5 miles on my pedometer both days just working the sale. Sunday I walked the dogs about 2.5 miles. Pedometer hit 5 miles on Sunday too! Today I walked with my work buddy for 33 minutes. Tonight I hope to try to get back to C25K. I left off at 28 min runs, so I will try again without the dogs.

With the garage sale, I did not log on MFP for the past few days. I will try to restart tonight. The good news is I lost some weight! New weight = #177.6

Vacation starts Thursday. Thursday is my day. I am going to run in the morning then walk the dogs. Run some errands. THEN I have a half day at a spa. It is horrifically expensive, but I am going through with it. I am going to spend that time working on my mindset for vacation. I want to keep my good spell going and not eat mindlessly and not exercise!

Big walk day on pedometer,6.33 miles. Surprised this am to see the scale registering lower! 176.2! Last two days on MFP have been good calorie wise.

First day off vacation is a decompression day just for me. Walked the dogs 1.3 miles, then I did C25K for 28 minutes which wound up about 2.5 miles. I am heading out to a spa for a half day shortly.

Drinking a protein shake I made so starting off the day well. Yesterday I met a friend for lunch at an Indian buffet. I had only one plate and drank only water there (where before I would have had 2 plates and drank Diet Coke). MFP showed me how the rest of the day was a calorie sinkhole. I got stressed out in the evening so I ate a cheeseburger, split a small fry and had half of a medium frosty. Then I drank a glass of wine and ate one Reese's PB cup! This is horrific! HOWEVER, note I was splitting things in half! In the past I would have eaten ALL of it myself. Keep tracking! Keep tracking! Keep Tracking! Next time maybe I can pick a salad and just a glass of wine?

Doing well on the minute thing. 460/850. I might try to wake up and run tomorrow morning before we leave. I have been trying to avoid running two days in a row, but that would free me up to walk out a running route or seek out a track in the Dells.

Vacation!

Trying to use caution but not feel deprived is difficult. Friday had soup and salad for lunch. That night's pizza was 700 calories a slice and I ate two. Sadly I did not look it up on MFP until just before bed. Thank god I had tons of exercise calories in on Fri! Also had DS order my kiddie cone so I could have a true small cone and he could have my "single". Did not drink on Fri so that was wise too. Boys willingly walked main drag after dinner for quite awhile which was sweet.

Saturday was a rest day. I walked an outlet mall until boys got irritated. Could not blame them as most of the stores were overpriced. Had two salads, one I shared with son and I could not finish my lunch one. Shared a beer sampler with DH at lunch which was a fun way to savor a few different tastes but not drink more than a pint. Also had fish for lunch by pulling apart a sandwich and just eating half of the fish. Best of all I escorted DS into a fudge shop and left with nothing!

Sunday am I ran 30 min. When I got back pedometer read 3.08 so nice cool mostly flat run but still a snail. Oh well I was out there and I will try to make good choices today. We r going hiking so hopefully I can get them to pick some tough trails! Run time 45 min. Will log time later for hike...

Happy fathers day!

No salad

Luna bar breakfast yesterday. DH loves old bars and Swiss burger with grilled onions was amazing. Crispy sweet potato fries too. Had 2 onion rings. Told myself with run and hilly hike I would be sure to have veggies at dinner. DH picked another pub for dinner. Only one salad on menu so I asked them to make me a chili baked potato and dinner salad. No salad. There was not one vegetable besides salad on the menu! Hopefully today will be better food options? This is total tourist food up here for sure. Waterpark today. Minutes with hike and run 655/850. Hopefully increased movement will offset food options.

Depressing

So I really did a big effort over vacation. I tried not to drink my calories. I drank a LOT of water, sparkling water, and iced tea (unsweet). I allowed myself some fudge on the last night we were in touristville, but only bought a pound and watched DS devour most of it. I had a kiddie cone one day and really stayed away from fries except one time with sweet potatoe fries. I chose chicken and lots of salads. I took care to not eat everything on my plate. I shared meals several times. I RAN and walked A LOT between waterparks, amusement parks, walking to dinner and shopping, etc. I really thought the few treats I had would easily be offset by the increased exercise. I was wrong.

Minutes of exercise now 885/850.

Despite all of this effort and mental care, my weight is UP #180.6.

I wallowed yesterday and ate all sorts of crap. I was so depressed to be not rewarded by the scale and also not too excited to come back to my job. But today I am back at it bc what else can I do? The heat is on and I am supposed to run tonight. I might try to wait until dusk.

I did 6 hours of exercise over vacation. I just don't grasp how I could be up 6 pounds in a week with that much physical activity.

Onwards

So I managed another 120 minutes in June for 1005/850. Ran a new route Sat which is basically a 5K. Terribly hot, so between that and hills I had to walke a bit.

This morning I walked the dogs 3mi. Weight 178.4. Very upset regarding weight. I have been fighting this fight with little success. Today I cleaned out almost all the clothes in my closet that don't fit. I just feel like I will start each day brighter if everything fits! Did laundry and lots of moving around as pedometer 8.45 for day!

Discouragement

Yesterday a friend made me a large plate of peanut butter fudge. What an evil gift for someone who is still upset about efforts not showing on the scale. Hopefully DS will find it today and eat a good portion of it. To top it off, DH stressed about work and I internalized a bit of that as well. Needless to say I ate too much fudge last night.

Weight: 178.4

I walked with a friend at work a good 30 minutes yesterday. I was supposed to run. I did not feel like doing anything. But I finally managed to drag me, the dogs and DS out for a short walk of 1.2 mi. Pedometer for day was 7.43 which is not bad for a work day and no motivation!

I do not have to work on 7/4. I never signed up for a official 5K, but I am going to run my new route early and see how it goes.

The vision of myself does not match my true body. I need to find a way to bring these two truths into harmony.

Update

SO I have been really down since vacation somehow equaled weight gain. The heat derailed my running. My mindset has not been in the best place.

BUT eventually I come full circle. My MD has increased my meds which might help. He also recommended The Abs Diet, which appears to be an eating plan that focuses on balancing protein with good carbs, low glycemic foods. The good thing is that this allows an evening snack. That is a really bad time of day for me. I just unravel at night.

So here is my goal for this week. I am going to keep it simple. I am reading the Abs Diet book from the library so I do not have every piece in place to start it fully. I will restart My Fitness Pal. I am walking most days, so I am exercising.
