Pay for RO ahead of time?

Its been a very long time since I've stayed on Disney property and being a kid at the time, I didn't have to worry about paying for anything! Now my mom and I are planning to stay at AOA in May 2014. I understand that you can book by phone about 500 days before and they charge you for one night. Is there anyway that I can pay for the hotel bit by bit closer to the date rather than having to pay for it all after the trip is over? Thanks!

Yup! You can call and make payments!! We make payments every month leading up to the trip so that it's all paid before we go.

Just wanted to add that calling is the only way to make RO payments as you cannot make those online like you can for packages.

Oh that's a pain!! I'll just have to make bigger payments over the phone then!

Another option would be to get gift cards periodically in the amount of any payments you would make and pay that way at check in. That way it's still paid for ahead of time (in a way) without you having to pay in cash or with a cc at check in .

Actually I was thinking of that idea for our food. Rather than carrying around a bunch of cash to the parks and restaurants, we're just going to put most of our food money on cards.

Hey SnapesGirl,

Just noticed you were from Montreal. Just so you are aware gift cards purchased in Canada can not be used in the parks.

I was planning on doing something similar and when speaking to the CM at my local Disney store here in Ontario mentioned to me that Canadian cards can not be used in the States

Thanks for the info! We'll just buy the gift card once we get down to WDW then. I'm surprised they wouldn't be valid no matter where you buy them, but its good to know before I purchased them!

You don't have to do that either; if you're staying on property, you can just use your KTTW card to charge your food to your room. Then you only have to pay your charges on check out. Fewer cards to carry & worry about.
