Best Fish Extender gifts

I am working on my gifts for our cuise in 12 days and am second guessing on thing I was planning on doing. I read on one thread that someone made a cruising CD and that it was a hit. We do not have to much that we could spend on the gifts (b/c this was a last minute cruise) and since we are both good on computers we thought it would be something we could do. But will people even listen to it or trash it?

Also wanted to know some of the best fish extender gifts everyone has gotten.

I received two cds on one of our exchanges and I put one in my iPod and the other, when I find it again, will go in there too. So maybe some people won't listen to them, but certainly a few of us do.

The neat thing about fish extender gifts is that they are all great. I still use bookmarks and magnets that I have received and my kids have loved all the stickers and candy and little trinkets. A lot of the fun is just going to the room and seeing what is in there. It doesn't matter what it is.

When deciding what to do, remember that you need to get it to the ship. It wasn't as much of an issue until the Airlines starting charging for that second bag.

Since I have gone on more than one cruise I was thinking I would do a picture CD of pictures from around the ship and the port of call that would help us all remember out time together. It will be easy to get to the ship and less expensive than some other options. Since I am not cruising again until fall 2011 I have some time to put it together.

Second bag? I think most domestic airlines charge for any checked in bag now.

Don't forget you can ship non-perishables and non-liquids to the DCL warehouse and have that box delivered to your stateroom on the day of embarkation. The address and instructions on how to do this is in the FAQ thread.

My DW and I are going to exercise that option this year and ship the magnets for our door and a good portion of our FE gifts. That way I don't have to worry about the luggage, just the postage to ship it As long as it isn't too heavy, it will save money over the airline fees.

This is correct however I was never organized enough to ship anything ahead of time. Many DISER do, however ship ahead without issue.

I would love a CD and would likely listen to it frequently! I think it's a great idea for a FE gift!

A CD of cool tunes sounds really nice! I gave out little 50ml bottles of Rum on our last voyage. I tagged them with little photos of our family on a gold colored chain that went around the neck of the bottle. Then on a few I added some personal comments with a gold inked pen... comments particular to DIS neighbors I'd been chatting with in the cruise meet thread for a year or more!

An idea that I got from another thread was giving out something from your home country/state.

Hello!
I am also making a CD for two cruises we are going on in the near future. Would love to swap song ideas with you- but dont want to do it publicly as I dont want to spoil the surprise for fellow cruisers. I thought of the mix CD on my own and was bummed that others had done this. Thought it was pretty original- oh well.
Anyway- PM me if you would like to swap ideas!
