If your shipping something to the ship...

I just read this piece of info...thought it was useful.

"Effective Sunday, February 1, 2009, Disney Cruise Line will operate a new storage facility that stores select items Guests have shipped prior to embarkation for delivery to the Disney Cruise Line terminal at Port Canaveral, Florida. Guests wishing to mail items prior to embarkation should direct their packages to the Disney Cruise Line Warehouse at 8633 Transport Drive, Orlando, FL 32832." Got this from allears...

Interesting, wonder what rules they will have in place for what they will/wont accept via shipment and limits on size of package etc?

New Information for Sending Packages to Ships...

This just came in on my All Ears newsletter today. Don't know if anyone can confirm this - but I thought I would share:

"Effective Sunday, February 1, 2009, Disney Cruise Line will operate a new storage facility that stores select items Guests have shipped prior to embarkation for delivery to the Disney Cruise Line terminal at Port Canaveral, Florida. Guests wishing to mail items prior to embarkation should direct their packages to the Disney Cruise Line Warehouse at 8633 Transport Drive, Orlando, FL 32832"

If this is "old" news - sorry!!!

I've never considered doing this, but now I'm thinking it might be cheaper to possibly send our dress clothes down (two tuxes and two suits) than having to check an extra bag. Anyone who had done this have any suggestions?

Does it cost anything for them to store the package for you?

I would call DCL to find out first if they know about this change, and secondly if they have insructed the old warehouse to forward the items for a specific time.

Confirmed New Address With DCL

We are considering mailing a package so I sent DCL an email to confirm the current address and rules. Here is their reply below:

Thank you for choosing a Disney Cruise Line Vacation!

Packages, boxes, gifts and medical equipment can be delivered to the ship.

Packages may be sent to the following address:

Disney Cruise Line Warehouse
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, FL 32832
Phone: 407-566-8196

Items that cannot be shipped to the Disney Cruise Line Warehouse and delivered to the ship include: food products (any and all food products including baby food/formula), beverages (liquor, water, etc.), chemicals, and luggage. These items will not be accepted at the warehouse and will be returned.

The items must arrive by the following time frame:

7-Night Cruise on the Disney Magic (Saturday) - Friday by 3:00pm
4-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Sunday) - Friday by 3:00pm
3-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Thursday) - Wednesday by 3:00pm

Please ensure the following information is on the package being delivered:

*Name

*Packing slip that details contents of the package (for prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient)

Just got off the magic last Saturday. I mailed 2 boxes to the Magic. It worked out great. They were in the stateroom before my luggage.

Any questions, please ask

Here's a question - if you mail a box down with clothes, how do you mail it back to your house?

Thanks

Pam

Silly question...can you ship sunscreen and shampoo? Just wondering if we can ship toiletries instead of checking them? Now that we have to pay for checked luggage we are trying to do carry on only. Thanks for any information.

Hi Pam, on Saturday we mailed it back, there is a post office in Port Canaveral. Usually, I just throw everything out. This time I had a lot of things to bring back. There is a Fedex ground in Orlando off of route 4 on exit 68 across the street from Walgreens. If you don't have a rent a car, I have read, you can mail from the airport. (not quite sure about this)

I did send most of my toiletries. I made sure they were really secure & in double baggies, just in case.
