Getting Into the Details

Now that the wedding is booked I realize I haven't said much about all the little things.

I've spent tons of time searching through Etsy.com and have found some really awesome things, though I haven't purchased anything yet.

Veil

I've known ever since Caryn's PJ last year that I wanted a birdcage veil. I found this one that I love on Etsy

I like this as a fascinator

or I may make something up myself with peacock feathers.

Inviatations

So I had found some peacock invites on etsy that I liked as well

But now I'm thinking they are too blue, not Art Deco enough, and i am getting too focused on peacock items and not enough Art Deco in general.

So what I've decided I want to do is make an invite that looks like an old cruiseline poster and luckily while doing an image search some lovely Disney artist already made something similar!

I'm going to play around in Photoshop find a good font. I'm pretty excited about the project
I'm also thinking of maybe somehow incorporating an old Holland America line poster or item because my Dad's parents met while working for them back in the 40s and I think that would be an awesome shout out and a nice way to remember my grandpa and incorporate my grandma.

Congrats for getting the date! And yay for another October Bride! (We're the 12th!)

I agree - I think the cruise poster is the better invitation. The blue just doesn't seem to fit in as well with your green and art deco theme. I can't wait to see what you come up with! I love the logo you made for the poker chips and all!

I love the invites with the cruise poster idea. Very cute! I like the birdcage veils also, you are going to look beautiful on your wedding day!

Oh, did you get my PM about the seminar? I think Ryan and I are going

yey October! Your wedding will be inbetween the two of mine lol. The civil ceremony will be on the 10th when we board and then the wedding will be on the 15th I wonder how long I can milk two anniversaries out of DF ....

I think I am going to play around with using the cruise poster as an STD (::giggle:: sorry first time typing that )

Inspiration Board

So I have attempted to gather my thoughts tonight by scouring the internet and creating an inspiration board. In the process I found a website offbeatbride.com That has me really wanting a green dress now! I looove every wedding on there!

Anyway I put together a bunch of images to get a sense of what I want. I'm bummed because I can't find the image of the really cool cake I found, oh well. Not like I'm going to have much say in the cake anyway

So here goes.....

And there you have it folks. My green/ Art Deco inspiration

love the green/art deco theme! It is very fun and youthful, and somehow still elegent and sophisticated... I think you actually pulled off an amazing do-it-all theme Becky! Do you think your going to go for the green dress now?? I bet it would look amazing especially with your hair color! <-- he's in your oclor scheme too lol!

Just a quick post before work as I had a thought just as I was going to bed last night...

DF and I are going on a cruise with his parents and brothers on March 15th and I thought it would be a great idea to mail our STDs from Castaway Cay! DF thought the idea was great as well. So now I just have to get the STDs made in a little over 2 weeks

hahaha. Thank you. Yeah I think I'm leaning more towards green, especailly since I don't want/need a big ball gown so I can easily look at bridesmaids dresses for me to wear. We shall have to see once I get to try things on.

I looked into it and vista print can print up some pretty cool looking custom postcards and I should have them in time.

As soon as I get the postcards designed I will post them here
