Single digit dance!

9 days til Spring Awakening! Hooray!

Kyle Riabko. Blake Bashoff. Christy Altomare. Could I ask for more?

(Well...in terms of OBC...Gideon Glick, Ernst, was reallllly cute)

One of my best friends is going the same day (same show, too!) as I am, so that'll be fun.

Sunday, April 26, the 1:00 matinee!

I'm surprised CapeCodTenor hasn't already posted this here. This YouTube clip has been posted to a couple other threads already, but if you missed it, like I had because the thread titles didn't interest me, take a look at it now. (Or again. )

This song is from Les Miserable.

If you've ever dreamed of being on Broadway or stood up and cheered for someone's dream of being on Broadway, you'll know why this YouTube clip belongs here.

ETA: She actually is the wrong casting for Fantine. But she'd be a dead ringer to play Madame Thénardier, (the wife as the thieving couple who take in Cosette and sing "Master of the House.")

Les Miz is one I've yet to see

Soon, they'll be announcing the '09-'10 season at PPAC. Can't wait to see what's coming!

I've seen Les Mis on Broadway 3 times. (Those were the days when tickets were affordable.) One of my favorite musicals. It needs to have about 4 songs cut from it because it is way too long, but once you weed past them, it is so worth it. One of the most uplifting musicals I've seen, in spite of all the crying. Bring LOTS of tissues.

I have heard it's long, yes. But I'm willing to see it; it's a classic!

The last thing I saw was Mamma Mia!, in January. Broadway withdrawl!

Still, nothing can beat the time I saw Chicago in NYC, front row.

You're gonna love it! I went to the MET this afternoon and there was an old poster for the show on the train. It made me miss it sooooo much! You have to post a review when you get back!

Young Frankenstein is starting its National Tour here!

And, to promote it and set up, MEL BROOKS himself is going to be here for a month!

Wicked and Jersey Boys are doing month-long runs here as well.

They just announced the MPLS season too, has anyone seen Dirty Dancing? I have not shown my dd the movie yet, the subject matter is something I thought she wait a little bit longer for, she just turned 13. Does the musical follow the same Penny story?

We also get Mary Poppins (which I am so excited for), In The Heights, Dreamgirls, Young Frankenstein, 101 Dalmations, Mamma Mia and Avenue Q.

You lucky duck, getting Mary Poppins! And In The Heights! I've heard many good things about that one. Mamma Mia! was part of this season's lineup (saw it, excellent). I'm assuming Dirty Dancing: The Musical follows most of the plot from the movie. Try looking at its official website; they tend to be helpful, and some have parent's guides.

I really liked Ave Q! We finally saw it this past January through the TDF. We paid $35 each for 3rd row orchestra. My brother LOVED it! It was like a Judd Apatow movie on stage, with that stupid humor It wasn't the funniest thing I've ever seen (I thought Spamalot was funnier) but it was good. See it if you get a chance!

I HATED Xanadu! I thought it was going to be a funny spoof of the movie but it was the movie all over again. The whole thing was a mess... it was so unfunny it was painful. UGH.

For whoever asked about Dirty Dancing, you have NO idea how excited I am for that show!!!!! It's supposed to be coming to Broadway later this year and I can almost guarantee it's gonna be a favorite of mine It's been one of my favorite movies ever since I was little and it looks so good!

Next weekend we also will be in NY, staying in the city from Mon til Thur. Haven't bought any tickets yet, but hoping to see something on Broadway. Going today to see Jersey Boys in Ft. Laud.
