I loved that speech. I saw her both times I saw the show, and she was terrific. We had 4th row seats the first time, which was after the Tonys and she got a standing ovation at the end. And she almost got a little teary-eyed then, but she shook it off like a pro and continued with the curtain calls. She did a great job.

I'm making JenM go see "Guys & Dolls" with me next month. I've always wanted to see it, and I'm really curious to see Lauren Graham in it. It's goint to be weird sitting in that theatre and not seeing "Rent" though.

I'm also hoping to catch the Little Mermaid next month when I'm in NYC. I'll have room for one or two more shows as well

I just picked up the Rent on Broadway DVD. Not sure if I really want to watch it, but I had to have it. hehe.

I'm already weirded out seeing the new marquee. Most of it is still under construction, but it's going to look like a whole different theater when it's done from what I can see so far.

I'm looking forward to Guys & Dolls - I've never seen it!

Gonna pick that one up for myself as well. I haven't seen it *live* since 2002.

I've heard that when West Side Story comes back to B'way this year the scenes with the Puerto Rican's will be in spanish. That should prove to be interesting. I can see why they would do it, but would the general audience go for it? If it's trivia you want, I'm sure I can find it. Give me a bit and I'll look.

Any info on good seating would be great. I don't often get to see shows in N.Y. (last one was in the 90's), so for me any info on seating would be great.

Ok, I've mentioned this one here on the boards before, so let's see who's been paying attention.

What famous song from Annie wasn't originally writen for the show?

That's a pretty good guess because you're right. The song was written to fill time so the stage crew could change the sets.

Trivia

Ok, here's another trivia question for everyone: what director was the only director to win a Tony, an Oscar and an Emmy in the same year (1973). He won two Tonys (direction and choreography) for Pippin, an Oscar for Cabaret and an Emmy for "Liza with a Z." Anyone?

I thought you knew me well enough to know that ABBA scares me. I will not see Mamma Mia.

I've seen Wicked a few times (JenM and I won the lottery for it five years ago--wow, that was a long time ago Jen).
