I hardly ever see the characters at Disneyland so this was a real treat for me. WDW has alot more spots set up for the characters so people in general have a better chance of seeing them. For most of our trip I just went to the spots I new they would be at and for the rest it was luck of the draw, we would just stumble upon them.

I'm glad you are still enjoying the TR, got plenty more coming up for you!

I can't wait to hear more about your trip! Your DH and you are such a cute couple! I can tell you are totally head over heels in love!

thanks!
Thank you so much! I'm glad our trip is reminding you of yours. I wish we could have been married at Disneyworld but that was so not in our buget. I keep telling DH though that we are going to renew our vows at some point and it will be at Disneyworld, he of course just keeps shaking his head at me.

DONALD is the best, he is # 1 I was very fortunate to have run into him several times on the trip. When you go back he for sure is at the Epcot character station and at Camp Mickey and Minnie in Animal Kingdom, go there and you will be able to see him.

More on the trip is coming right up so stay with me.

All aboard the Disney Wonder!

Hi everyone who is reading along sorry for the delay, I have been spending more time reading on the boards then writing my TR. It's just so hard to tear myself away from everybody's great stories. Anyway I'm focused again for now and ready to start.

It is now Nov. 9th Sunday and we are getting ready to go on our first Disney Cruise. DH and I decided to ask for a late checkout which they said was fine so we slept in until 9am and then took our time getting ready and repacked. Surprisingly I was feeling really good this morning, I hadn't woken up with an asthma attack during the night and my coughing was down to a minimal sporatic hacking instead of constant. Originally we had planned to get to the port early in the morning but in the end we decided to take our time and not rush. After we finished packing and loaded up the car, we headed over to the resort lobby to look in the gift shop since we hadn't done that yet and I was sure I had seen a Donald Duck shirt in there. I was sad when we walked out of the room, I really liked the POFQ and hope to stay there again some time.

We walked around the shop for ever looking at stuff and the place isn't even that big. DH was eyeing a Mickey watch they had in there but he wasn't sure he wanted to spend $100 on it or not. (He collects watches and has all sorts of them mostly Disney ones) I finally picked out my Donald shirt, don't have a picture of it but the front is his angry face and it says I'm not mad at you, I'm just naturally crabby. It's perfect for me It goes great with my grumpy sweatshirt, do you see a patern here? NAH, J/K I'm really a pleasant person, really I am. I just happen to like all the angry, grumpy or evil characters. So we payed for our stuff, minus the watch and DH had to take a picture of this as we left the gift shop. He said there was something completely hysterical about this and after thinking about it, I have to agree.

http://

What made it so funny was the tote bag that had been hung up right next to all the booze, it was almost screaming that they go hand in hand.

So we get in the car and drive out the gates of POFQ and I'm really sad now but I perk up when I realize I'm about to be on the Disney Wonder.

I love your TR! So sorry about the ignorant woman at Epcot.

Hey, if you want anything English sent over let me know We met with some friends we had made online a couple of years ago (we're from England and they were from New York) and the little girl wanted to know if I was related to the Queen because of my accent - bless her!

All aboard the Disney Wonder!

Right away I started taking pictures to amuse me because it was nothing but endless road and just driving, driving, driving. Thankfully there wasn't any traffic on the way to Port Canaveral and it took us only 45min or so to get there. Florida is a beautiful place and we got to see some pretty sights, it made me not want to come back to California and the always congested freeways and billions of people. Here are some photos from the drive.

http://

http://

http://

And this was my breakfast on the way also, well this and some grapes. We arn't the healthiest people are we?

http://

Pretty soon we saw this sign and I was getting really excited.

http://

And then we see water and that can only mean we are getting closer, and I'm freaking out now.....

http://

AND THEN IN THE DISTANCE, WE SPOT HER.......AND SHE IS GORGEOUS!!!!!!!

http://

GETTING CLOSER!!!!!!!

http://

AND THEN WE HAVE OFFICIALLY ARRIVED!!!!!!

http://

http://

So we head into the first check point and I'm just amazed at the level of security they have at the port, it's awesome. I love how they make sure you are infact a guest on the Disney Cruise before letting you into the area. Talk about feeling extremely safe and secure.

All aboard the Disney Wonder!

So that was the last photo I took until we got inside the building. We pulled up next to the porters and before I could even get out of the car one was right there taking the luggage out of the trunk. It was pretty funny because he was so quick and DH and I were trying to tell him that not everything in the trunk was going but this guy was just ready to load it all up. They are pretty efficient there arn't they? So after dividing everything up and getting the right bags out of the car, my DH, myself and the porter all about cracked up right there because the trunk ended up looking like a Disney store had exploded in it. I kid you not there was like 15 Disney bags all full of souveners and stuff that we just threw back there and we hadn't realized just how much it was until that moment. Of course then it occured to me, how the heck are we going to get all this stuff home? We got back in the car and headed over to the parking lot and $60 later we parked the car and then DH decided to "TALK" about all the stuff in the trunk.
I was like, "OH NO" your not going to bring that up right now and I think my tone and the look on my face ended that conversation pretty quick. Love you baby was the last thing I said.

Coming up later.....Just how long is that line to get into the building?

I'm not sure how to answer you on my take of DL and WDW. I mean DL is the original park so right there it makes it more special then WDW and I personally grew up going to DL all the time so it will forever have a special place in my heart. WDW is just in a league of it's own, I mean it's truely spectacular and very, very beautiful. Having the land in Florida makes the parks ten times better then DL which as you know is just stuck in the middle of busy Anaheim city. Sure they did a great job of making you feel like your in a different world but at the end of the day, the landscapping and the vast area in WDW makes you really feel like your in your own little world. As far as rides are concerned, it's a toss up because there are some rides at DL that are by far better then at WDW and in return some rides at WDW are better then DL. I will have to say that most of the shows are better at WDW except for Fantasmic, I think ours is way better even though it's shorter.

Anyway, I hope that helps, it was the best explanation I could think of. Either way it's Disney so both parks are amazing and I'm fortunate to be able to go to Disneyland when ever I want to and also get DH to take trips to WDW now because he loves it as much as me.

I'm soooo glad you love my TR. I know alot of people are reading it but not alot comment on it so sometimes I wonder.......

That's so adorable about the little girl, she must have been precious.

Thank you so much for offering to send me over something if I want it, that is very sweet of you. I would of course rather send myself over to you. But I will keep it in mind and let you know!

Hugs

Finally caught up...again. I'm not sure how time gets away from me , it just does.

DM and I ate at Coral Reef, on our trip, and we both loved it. Of course when it was time to order I had to say, "DM stop watching/taking pictures of the fish and order your meal." and when the food arrived there was a discussion of actually eating the food before it got cold. (Od course this was after I told her she couldn't wander the restaraunts taking pictures until after she'd ordered.)

When I was reading about you getting to DCL I was getting excited for you. Can't wait to read all about your adventures on the high seas.

Oh I like DL too and I've been to both. DL is like smack dab in the middle of a MAJOR road/highway--there isn't any "mystique" when you enter the parking lot...not like WDW where it's 43 freakin square miles. Then again, like you said DL is the original and not a lot of room for growth. Whereas WDW there is STILL land around (from what I know of). I like both parks b/c the rides are completely different.

Can't wait to see pictures of the cruise---if you have any that is.

That's hysterical about your DM and Coral Reef. It really is a great restaurant.

I'm so glad you got excited reading the part about getting to Port Canaveral, I was trying to get that anticipation affect going.

I'm working on the next installment right now and there will be plenty of adventures coming up!

All aboard the Disney Wonder!

Okay so I last left off with DH and I parked the car and we were heading over to the terminal building when I spotted the long line to get through security. I would have thought it would be fairly empty already since we got to the port at around 1pm and that was late. So we get into the line which started outside the building and after about 20min we finally headed up the escalator to the main building area. This is when I started taking pictures again.

See the lady CM looking right at the camera when we took the photo, she was so cute. The minute we got closer to her she was so excited that we were on our honeymoon and going on the cruise. She was asking us a bunch of questions about the wedding and giving us all sorts or best wishes.

http://

http://

http://

http://

http://

http://

That was really the only pictures we took because I was to excited to keep loitering around the terminal, I wanted to get on the ship! So we did what this sign told us to.

http://

Pretty soon we were walking through this!

http://

And then walking through the hallway we both had to have our picture taken under the Welcome Aboard signs. We are strange people!

http://

http://

We had our welcome aboard photo taken and I don't know why it scanned into the computer so crappy but the original photo looks much better.

http://

And then before I new it the Cruise CM was asking our name and we were being announced to everybody, which resulted in a huge applause because of being on our honeymoon. I was kinda embaressed and I believe I blushed a bit. After that happened DH and I kinda stood there in a daze not knowing what to do because (A) We have never been on a cruise before, (B) I don't think the shock of actually being on the DISNEY CRUISE SHIP had worn off yet and (C) We couldn't stop looking at the beyond beautiful atrium.

After a few minutes we kinda snapped out of it and decided to go to our stateroom but as we headed to the elevator another CM saw us and I think he realized we looked like two very overwhelmed and completely lost people so he came up to us and asked if we had eaten yet and we told him no, so he suggested we go eat because everything would be shutting down for the muster drill in a little while. We agreed and so he directed us to Parrot Cay but not before wishing us a fantastic honeymoon and wonderful time on the cruise.

All aboard the Disney Wonder!

Okay so we got to the entrance of Parrot Cay and the CM asked us to please wash our hands with those wipes they have all over the ship and that was fine, we did it and proceeded to do it throughout the entire cruise but boy was I surprised and disgusted at some other people we encountered who would not partake in this small request that the cruise ship has. So we get escorted to our table in the corner by a window, it was very cozy and the whole time we are walking everybody, including other guest who saw us were saying congratulations and wishing us well.

So we get seated and order some drinks and then hit the buffet. Good Lord was I in heaven. It was sooooo much yummy food and I had a very hard time choosing what I wanted to eat. DH on the other hand was off and running, he new exactly what he wanted apparently. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the buffet, but I did get pictures of us happily eating.

http://

http://

We actually ate fairly quickly and DH went back for seconds but I didn't, I was too excited and wanted to see our stateroom. Granted we only had an inside stateroom, so really no big deal but I was still anxious to see it. Off we went and here are pictures that DH took while I was in the bathroom.

http://

http://

We were surprised to see that they had given us two onboard credits, one was for $25 and the other was for $75, very cool. And of course you can see the buttons they gave us for the honeymoon had Donald and Daisy on them so I was thrilled!!!!

http://

Some more pictures of the room.

http://

http://

http://

http://

I was very happy with the stateroom all in all, very cozy for two people. It did take me awhile to adjust to the tiny bathroom though, that took some pratice. DH and I thought we would be sad not having a port hole or verandah but in the end we decided it was not worth the extra money and we found a better use for the money we saved taking an inside stateroom instead.

So after we got settled for the most part (one of our suitcases had arrived), I finally looked at our dining rotation and realized that the one place I wanted to eat most of all, Animator's Palate was on the same night we scheduled dinner for Palo. I remembered that the Navigator said they were making dining rotation adjustments in one of the lounges, I can't remember which one but we headed down there so I could try and change things around. After speaking with a CM from Palo he advised me that the only openings they had would be that night (our first night on the ship) and it was late, around 8:30pm. I didn't like the idea at all but I really, really wanted to eat at Palo so I said fine and we rescheduled. Originally I had Palo scheduled for our last night on the ship so I was wondering how this was going to pan out for us.

We left and headed up to Deck 9 to look around for a bit and to get the drink of the day, but I don't remember what it was called. It was very yummy though.
