I am not sure better is the right word. Different yes. I think you are paying for the prestige of the name at the Waldorf. It will be a gorgeous hotel. But much differnt then Disney. And as much as I love my Disney CL they in no way compare to CL at resorts outside the World.

Yes, it will be better. Have you ever stayed at one? Service at concierge level outside of WDW is very different than at Disney. They wont be on the monorail, though. Travel & Leisure ranks the Ritz Carlton as the #1 hotel in the Orlando area -- at Disney, AKL came in first, followed by the GF.

I don't think you would regret that choice at all if you did. Disney is a themed resort and that is why we love it. When we go and stay Disney we don't expect the best in luxury. We expect the Disney magic. And they have yet to disappoint us. But if we were going without the kids and looking for luxury I wouldn't think twice about booking the waldorf.

Not sure which will be better, but WA will be in a better location for WDW, that's for sure. I've stayed at both a WA and a RC in Hawaii and they were both very nice resorts that blow the GF out of the water.

Hilton owns the WA "brand" and has a list of hotels that are part of their WA collection, including places in Hawaii, Rome, Versailles, Park City, etc. You can look them up online. I've never stayed at the ones in NYC or FL.

The WDW resorts exist in a world of their own, with no real competition. They are all owned by one company. Competition breeds innovation, service, and competitive pricing. We've enjoyed our stays at WDW deluxe resorts, but they couldn't charge that much if they weren't waking distance to the parks.
