Late April/Early May Rental Rates- Post Them Here!

Hi! I am debating getting a rental or not this year trying to save $$$, but it makes me sooo nervous. What rates are you all finding out there for your trips? Maybe I'll find something I can live with. Thanks!

Dollar

I have a car reserved through Dollar (at the Tampa airport) for $137 for a week on a compact. I used code OI1054, which is an orlando visitor bureau code.

I rented for end of March/beginning of April with Dollar...rate code OOAG (not sure what it is, found it on internet search)...we're doing an SUV and got it for $60 per day. The smaller cars were starting around $30 per day I think.

I have a mid size SUV from Alamo using Costco code (7014627) and $25 coupon (AD63637RM) for about $300 for an 8 day rental. Today, that same combination is pricing way higher.

Mini vans from Dollar are $199/week + tax using OOAG code.

Thanks everyone! Prices are a lot higher than in the past, but the compact might work for us since some of us can take ME with the luggage. I'll post anything I find too, mousesavers has all the codes listed but it takes tons of time to go through all that which I am short on right now. *** soon as I do I will post any good deals I find!

We have a full size from Alamo April 19 - 28 w/ walmart code for $314.

I agree rates are higher then in the past.

In the past we have used the KISS, KISSE, KISS2 rates with Dollar. I can not get any of these to work this year though, has anyone one else had any luck with them?

Can't get those codes to work either, but OOAG gave me the same mini van rate as KISS...

Also used Dollar and Corp. Code OI1054 from Tampa-April 12-19th $184.80 inc. tax and surcharges. Now I just have to find decent airfare out of Milwaukee or Chicago.

Not the best rate ... but for end of April / begining of May I have :

$118.00 for a three day minivan rental from National.
using Costco code and coupon from Entertainment book ( $Free day)

Also holding on to a Budget res. for $165.oo for three days (for after the cruise) . I'm using a costco code, no coupons for a three day Minivan ( only midsize or smaller)

Three day rentals are quite pricey...

I am interested in getting a rental for our vacation, 4/25-5/5. I am having a difficult time finding a decent rate. I always get good rates, but the rates seem to drop as your dates get closer. Maybe we are just trying too far out. If I see anything, I will certainly post the info here.

They definately tend to drop as the dates get closer, but be careful because they start to go back up again too. Usually I find the best rates about 3-4 months out, but I always start looking around 6 months or so.

I did priceline last year and was quite happy, it was either $9 or $11/day for our compact (plus taxes and fees). I may just do it again this year, but at this point I'm still debating whether or not to even rent a car. If only they would release the May hours so I can plan our days!!!

I booked with Dollar for April using the OOAG code as its the best around right now, but I am hoping Alamo comes out with some good coupons and rates for my time frame. All of their current coupons and specials expire before we go.
