PixieDust, you are the queen of the swirl. Any tips?
Cool! Its a fun hobby... My nephews and nieces have a couple of tie dyes by now

Its so easy to find your family in Disney World, they stand out in the crowds

Thank you, I love when a spiral looks cool, I really don't have any secret, sometimes they come out super nice and others not much

I posted this on another thread!

Here some pics for inspiration I really like this first ones, the purple always gives it a kick or maybe is just me, I really like purple.

I made this one to match a tutu, the colors look super after I took the pic I put some rhinestones around the mouse.

Aww that's so cute with the tutu!

I had done these a few years ago but, I had used a kit. This time I used some Jacquard dye from my art store and I WAY overestimated how much dye I would need. I used two cups of water for each color and it hardly looks like I used any for 3 shirts! Now I am looking around my house for other things to dye. Do you think the DH would be happy to walk in and see tie dyed sheets? ha ha

I did one Mickey head and one plain. Both green. They are in their plastic bags right now. I'm afraid to see what they will look like.

Well they are in the dryer now. They turned out cute but, not very spiral-y. If I post a picture later maybe you call can tell me what I did wrong.

Wow, if I didn't know any better, I would think that is a Mickey Head on that shirt.

Not really well defined, but I'm happy with my first try.

Question re: Post 124

Pixie - I look at this post and it looks like you traced your Mickey Heads with a bleach pen. Could you give me some tips or directions how to do this. 3 of my shirts turned out great but mine is a little muddled. I would like to give it some more pop.

Thanks.

The first one is bright as it looks like, the colors turned out just the way I wanted. (Mini clue..its yours J)
The other 6 are for the same family.

Thanks.

Roxy.

(the red looks orange, and the green looks more like turquoise) The real colors are: Navy blue Mickey head, red, green, yellow.

Hi!
Sure! I just followed the line with the bleach pen. On my shirts you can see the line where the thread was and I just followed.

I have now outlined them with the bleach pen. Do I just let it sit, soak in and dry? When do I wash? The bleach solution came out thick from the pen so I don't want to disturb it too much for fear I might spread the bleach.

OK! Yes do not touch it, you could remove the excess too with a cloth or rag. I normally let it dry for about 20 minutes and then wash it again.
