Parade

Hi all,

Some of you posted you wanted to hear about the parade taping today, so here's our experience.

Thanks to a fellow diser, we had tickets for the 12pm taping today. We got to the park at 7:30, because DD didn't want to take any chances we would miss Miley. After arriving, we were informed there'd be no Miley today, so the next 90 minutes passed very slowly with a very sad 10 year old. When we got in the park at 9, nothing was going on with the parade, so we decided to head to Space Mountain. After riding it 3 times in a row with no wait, we had a very happy 10 year old again.

We got in line around 11:30 for the taping. They took us in groups of 25 and led us to the back of the stage (at the beginning of Main St.). This is a pic of my kids infront of a balloon they brought out for the taping, but ended up taking away, because it was blocking the castle. The back of the stage is to the left of where we are standing.

After standing in that spot for about 15 minutes, a Disney lady walked up to me and said, "How many in your party?" I told her 4 and she said to come with her. Next thing we new we were standing right in front of the stage!! Here we are:

The first performer was David Cook. Here is my son watching him. He is standing up on a platform that raised up the kids, and he is holding onto the edge of the stage.

Here are couple of pics of David Cook:

After David Cook, Sarah Brightman came out. David Cook was very friendly, sang beautifully live, and was rather amusing. Sarah wouldn't even make eye contact with anyone and didn't sing live. At this point, my kids were very tired from having stayed in the same spot for almost 3 hours and were driving me nuts to go, so I don't have any pics of her.

Now, sadly, we don't have any tickets for tomorrow. So were are going to take our chances, and hope DD will get a glimpse of Miley (if she is even there). I met 2 ladies in the park from Texas who didn't have tickets today, and they still ended up in the special viewing section infront of the stage, so hopefully, we'll get that lucky tomorrow.

If anybody has any tickets you don't want, I'd be happy to take them!

Thanks for the up-date. A group of us are headed to the MK tomorrow morning (after checking in at POP bright & early). We plan to hit the back of the park before checking out who might be performing. This was a girls only week-end we had planned back in April with no idea that tomorrow was parade taping..............

Thanks so much for sharing your parade pics and story. I'm sorry your daughter didn't get to see Miley. That must have been disappointing.
It's so funny, because on the other hand, Cook's fans would have been thrilled for the chance to stand there watching him for 3 hours. That's like an ultimate contest prize! LOL.
Hope you were able to get tickets for the second taping!
