Autograph Book ???

So, I've gathered all of the designs, but I have a quick question. When you guys make your own, how big do you make them? Somewhere on here I had seen someone explaining how to set it up in Word, so I did that, but I just printed some and they seem really small. Any suggestions??

I sized mine to 4x6 and then had to trim off the excess. Can you post what your page looks like after it's printed?

I print mine on 4x6. You can buy index cards at Walmart that are all white and are already cut down to 4x6 (pretty inexpensive...around $1.26 I think), but I like to buy cardstock and cut it down to 4x6 because it is a lot thicker than the index cards. You can get 3 4x6 cards per 8.5x11 sheet of cardstock.

Also, in page setup...set the top margin to .25 and the rest of the margins to .2 (bottom, left and right margins).

Go to file then page setup in Word and set the paper to 4 by 6 inches. Then paste the pictures/autograph pages into the document. Go to format then picture and click on size. Change the height to 3.55 inches and the width will automatically adjust. This will leave a little bit of white around the picture. Also...make sure you center it on the page.

If you don't want any white around it...in page setup under the "paper" tab set the paper to borderless 4x6 photo then you can make the picture bigger and have no white around the border. I prefer a little white as it looks good and saves on ink...just a little...but when you are printing 236 cards like I did every little bit helped.

Hope this helps!

question

Hi --

Love your cards and would also love to make a special autograph book for my DS 8 for our January trip. Couple of questions --

Do you mean you get two 4 by 6's for each sheet of cardstock? Not sure how you fit three on there.

Also, how are you going to bind these together, or are you not going to bind them together?

Did you block and copy all of these images from the dis and create one master word document with all 236 images?

Thanks for your help~

Lauren

I didn't bind them together, some people do. My concern was I wasn't sure what Characters I would find, so I put the cards in a photo album that I got from the Dollar store and just took them out when I found a character. Then when I got home I put the character signature next to the photograph of them and my nieces getting their signature.

Before my trip in October I printed 100+ 4x6 pages at Walmart. To solve the problem of not knowing what characters will be there I made up several pages that had just a plain colourful border around it( I printed about 100 pictured cards and about 50 blank) this was a good thing because I met Max from Goof Troop, Queen of Hearts, Meeko, Sherif , Prince John and Mr. Penguin (these characters change daily and can be seen at where The Incredibles are. However they only appear at 4:45 on days that Fanasmic has one show and they only stay out for 15 minutes) With these blank cards I also go the autographs of the street preformers at Hollywood Studios (the best interaction was asking Buzz for his!!)
Instead of binding them I used serval small photo albums because I am going to scrapbook them and bring in for the 100th day of school! (I teach SK)

Before you print the pages make sure the document is actually 4x6. I made this mistake and ended up printing several 5x7s out on 4x6 papers.

I take 8.5 x 11 cardstock paper and cut it down to get three 4x6 cards...there will be a little bit of paper left over. I cut the cardstock to make the 4x6 cards before I print on them. I like using cardstock instead of index cards that are already cut to 4x6 because they are a little bit sturdier. Like penny...she is the designer for some of my cards...I do not bind them together. I get a photo album that you can slide pictures in and out of the pockets so that you can get to the individual autograph cards easily when you see a character and they aren't having to struggle with a whole book...just one card. I also have a small clipboard to clip the page to and it gives the character something sturdy to write on and you don't have to worry about it blowing away during the transfer. Fortunately, I have a little one and a stroller so I don't have to carry my book all over WDW.

Let me know if you want the cover personalized. Plus there are blanks in my account if you want to personalize them yourself. Have fun. Penny

Request for personalized covers

Hi Penny,
We are taking my two little princesses to Disney this weekend! Is there any chance you could create two personalized christmas covers for the autograph books for them?

1. Julia Katherine - She likes Tink and the princesses

2. Morgan - she is a princess girl all the way

Thanks so much!!!!!!

If you looked in my photo bucket account and didn't find anything there, I will have to do from scratch. I will do by Wednesday. Here's my account, in case you wanted to check here first.
