Clothes for a 14 year old boy?

What brands of clothes do 14 year old boys think are cool? I'm shopping for one who wears mens size XL.

it depends on what type of kid he is.

I had one that loved Hot Topic at that age and one that loved Abercrombie and Hollister. If he likes comic books, Gothic things, hot topic is your store, if he likes clothes that are more casual hoodie and polo type, Abercrombie or Hollister might be a better fit.

I would go for Ambercrombie or Hollister or American Eagle. Always, run don't walk, right to the back section for all the sales as I can get my son clothes there on sale for about what I would pay at Target.

Good luck,

Try Aeropostale. They usually have good sales at Christmas. All my teen relatives like shopping there.

DS is 14 and wears American Eagle and Hollister for shirts and hoodies. He wears Levi's jeans. He wasn't too keen on the low waist style of jeans from the other stores.

It all depends. My DD almost 12 loves AandF and Hollister. My son thinks its to metro. He really likes Hurley and Quick Silver. He won't wear any Volcom though because I guess the kids that wear that are not the kind of friends e would pick. He is in uniforms 5 days a week so he loves to just wear normal clothes on his days off.

I have gotten some of the best deals at Aeropostle. my ds14 is very tall and skinny he wears a 28 x 34 but can get by with a 32 length which is what I have to buy b/c i can bearly find the 28 x 32 as it is - i think if you go to the mall and just shop around to the different stores you will find something (that's what i do) also you have to remember weather he likes long sleeves or sweaters or plain t's - my son will wear this stuff but my dh won't nor will his boys only hoodies is as far as I can go with them...hope this helps

Does he like any sports team?

My boys (11, 12, & 13) wearing adult L love their Hoodies.

Also, check TJMaxx or Marshalls because my middle son who cares what he wears loves the Polo Raph Lauren shirts I get there....for a fraction of the price.

My 14 yo doesn't care. Zero appeal to certain brands. If it fits, its fine.

It really does depend on the kid. If it's possible, get his input. Or better yet, take him shopping. Clothes are a really personal thing.

I always find the best deals on popular clothes at Aeropostale. The zippered hoodies and zippered sweatshirts without the hoods are pretty safe bets for gifts because they don't have to fit perfectly.

To the mom with the tall slim son: When my son was in high school, he was tall and skinny too, and I had a hard time getting decent pants that fit--Aeropostale does carry a limited selection of 30x34's --you have to be lucky to find them in stock. I could usually find some good pants that fit at American Eagle, but their prices are much higher. Occasionally, I could find some on clearance, but even then paid more than I would at Aeropostale with their normal sales.

Many lower-priced stores have clothing modeled after the more expensive and popular stores. My DS17 likes American Eagle, Hurley, Element, Billabong, sort of skater meets preppy I guess? But in reality, they don't actually have to be those brands, he just likes that style.

Cool

I would say American Eagle, or Aeropostale. My son is the same size (Mens XL) and he likes those 2 styles.
