I'm at the YC until the 2nd: fantastic service so far

I am here for the Capital One Bowl tomorrow (go Dawgs!), and I brought DH and DS down to the YC for this entire week. The place is packed with people (as expected, MK closed this morning around 10:30 AM), and the resort has been very busy as well. SAB closed Monday (at its bathing limit), and they are enforcing the wrist band policy. The restaurants have been able to accommodate us all week, and we have not had to wait overly long for our ADRs. We did have to wait about 20 minutes for a table at Beaches and Cream on Monday night, at about 6:30 (I didn't think that was too bad).

The service this week has been fantastic. We were greeted by a doorman who walked us through the lobby, showing us the Crew's Cup and Yachtsman Steakhouse, as well as pointing out the shop and telling us where the other amenities were, all of this before escorting us to the front desk where we were attended to by one of the 10 or so CMs waiting to check us in. The check-in was efficient, quick and helpful. We were let into our room about 1:00 PM (we have a fist floor water/pool view room that overlooks the wedding gazebo; though I think it is wrong of them to consider this a water/pool view room since you can't see the water without getting off the patio). The room was spotless, and we were greeted by a towel reindeer and a towel snowman. Even the bell services and valets have been very good! We got a call from the hotel manager on Monday evening asking if everything was to our satisfaction, and giving her direct line should we see anything that needed her attention. I can't help but think that the services, which has declined slightly over the last few years, is up to Disney standards again because of the scare the economy has put into the travel industry. Whatever the cause, Disney should be commended for running a top flight resort during an extremely busy time of year.

We were there from 12/19-12/27 and had great service everywhere, especially in the concierge lounge. Not so busy for us though--sunny days and quiet stormalong! Go to Yachtsman if you can-it was great.

Glad to hear it! We will be staying at the YC in May, but we visited it on our trip last week to see it and get excited. As soon as we walked up, the doorman got the door for us, and when we reached the lobby we were immediately "welcomed aboard". It was such a nice touch, and we were guests at the Poly, not YC! It seems like a lovely place, I cannot wait to stay there.

They were last night, but I don't know when the decorations will come down. All day long today at the resort and at Epcot, the Christmas music continued to play.

Sounds like a great trip! I am so bummed SAB is closing for a huge chunk of the spring... we wanted to stay there in March but without SAB we decided to book something else.
