Pinkcow's DCL Wedding 12/8/09..... 1 Year Later!
Hi All! Everyone’s trip reports and planning journals have been so incredibly helpful I thought I would start my own.
Trip Report! Sneak Peeks Day 1 Day 2 Day 2.5 Day 3 Day 4 Day 4: The Legal Ceremony Day 4: Animator's Palatte Day 5: Atlantis! Day 5.5 Day 6: The Big Day!! Part 1 Day 6: The Big Day!! Part 2 Day 6: The Big Day!! Part 3 Day 6: The Big Day!! Part 4 Day 6: The Big Day!! Part 5 Day 6: The Big Day!! Part 6 Day 6: The Big Day!! Part 7 Day 6: The Big Day!! Part 8 Day 6: The Big Day!! Part 9 Days 7 and 8: Last Days of the Cruise Day 8: Let the Honeymoon Begin!--- The Grand Flo Day 8: Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Day 9: Old Key West Bound! Day 9: Epcot! Day 10: Hollywood Studios, Tampa, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Oh My! Day 11: Goodbye Disney ![]() The Monday Morning Quaterback Review Our Plans: Disney Cruise Line 4 night cruise with a ceremony on Castaway Cay. Theme- Tropical Christmastime fun Colors- Pink and Green Guests-22 About Us- I currently work as a marketing coordinator, and DF teaches at a local college. We are both from MA, but met in FL, and now live in MN! We have a love for all things Disney. I was even a CM for a short period of time. We’ve been together for not quite five years, and started planning last fall. There was really no contest when it came to deciding on having a Disney wedding. We did however agonize on what type of wedding to have. We looked at all options possible including DFTW, Swan and Dolphin, Buena Vista Palace and elsewhere. For us an Escape wedding was immediately out due to the guest count. Swan and Dolphin seemed to be a mixed bag. So, we set a date for a Wishes wedding. However, the economy put a kibosh on that. DCL did just feel right, in that we really wanted a casual and intimate ceremony to begin with, and we could invite everyone we wanted. So here we are! Our families have all been to WDW more than a dozen times. But none of our family or friends has ever been on a Disney cruise (and neither have we!!) So, it will really be a fun time for all. We’re also really excited to have it near Christmas when all of the holiday decorations will be up. I really believe there is an extra bit of “magic”!

YAY! I'm glad you started a PJ, I love reading about the DCL weddings. I would love to get married there, but one of my biggest priorities was having ALL of my family on my big day, and I knew that wasn't possible on a cruise.
I can't wait to read more!!!! |

The Dress
Ok, it's time for me to fess up... I've been an Ebay madam..
I've purchased several dresses for rock bottom prices. I've been getting A LOT of flack for it too! (Hey, I'm being thrifty!) ![]() Well, I think this dress is going to make it to the final cut- Maggie Sottero "Camden" ![]() I don't want any heel-sand misadventures, so I've purchased these sandals- ![]() And these for the Palo reception and photos- ![]() I haven't figured out how I'm going to work the red into the pink and green scheme, but I'm creative!

Sounds great! I think a cruise sounds like a great idea.... I considered one, but DF wouldn't have it...he's super afraid of shark. Yes, he's convinced they can get him on the boat.
Looking forward to reading more! |

Oh, that dress is very pretty. Love the sandals for the beach, very cute. I here you on saving money. I got my dress off of Craig's List and saved about 500 dollars! There is nothing wrong with that at all!

I LOVE the dress (and shoes!)! It will be so beautiful on the cruise! Your plans sound great so far! We were married on christmas eve, and for our VR I'm doing a red dress with flip flops- lots in common, eh!

Flower Wands
My two bridesmaids will be my sisters, ages 25, and 13. I decided I wanted flower wands, rather than traditional bouquets. I ran it by them, and they loved the idea. I also asked if they wanted real or silk flowers. Both wanted silk to have as a keepsake. I did a google image search looking for inspiration and came across a seller on Etsy who does beautiful work.
http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5737535 BelovedChild was too sweet to work with. She was also more reasonable in price than Disney. Here are our wands- ![]() ![]() I just love them!

Speaking of bridesmaids, I also ordered headbands from Ebay. I have my wedding pair, and two pairs I'm calling "bridesmaid princess" headbands-
![]() I think they'll be great to walk around the ship with.

Love your dress and the flower wands are so beautiful! What dress will the gilrs be wearing? DD is going to have a flower wand too, but i think i'm just going to go with the $25 one from Disney Floral. easier that way. |
