I believe each buidling is 3 floors. My requests for this weekend (with a standard view ressie) were #1) top floor, garden or courtyard view and #2) a corner room with 2 windows

I did online check-in and also sent a fax to the resort. Who knows what i will end up with!!!!

Just returned from 7 days at POFQ. Loved this resort. We requested water view, hoped for river view but received pool view. It didn't matter. The pool view is pretty too. We were on the second floor. THe pool was always busy at night, but we could not hear the noise once we closed our door. There were 4 of us and we did not find the room too cramped, even with a scooter. We loved the privacy curtain, and having two sinks when we were all getting ready at the same time. The staff were always friendly, the room clean. We loved walking around the resort and sitting on a bench next to the river and just relaxing. Everything is so close! The riverboat landing, the pool, the food court, the bus stops. Bus waits were about every 20 minutes. If the bus was almost empty, it would go on to POR, but most of the time we were direct to and from the parks. The parks were very crowded beginning May 1 and the heat really kicked in. We were very happy that most of our week prior was mild and breezy. I will definitely be back to POFQ. Nothing against POR, but I wasn't impressed by my visits there and could not believe how far apart the 4 bus stops were Even at CS the bus stops seem closer! Ok, here's my take.
PROS:
Beautiful Resort
Theming
Short walk to everything
Boat to Downtown Disney
Rare bus sharing
Hot tub is hot- there were a lot of children in the hot tub, but every adult that stepped in to it remarked how hot it was. The rules state it is kept at 104 degrees. It felt great and helped relax worn out legs and muscles. But at that degree of heat, young children should not be spending time in it.
Live music in the lounge area
Towels available at the pool
Airline check-in was a breeze
Elevators
Great laundry facilities

CONS:
Pool too cool
Gift shop is limited

As you can see, the CONS are not important enough to keep us away. We really enjoyed our stay here. Oh...and I did not get addicted to the beignets

Thanks for your post! I am a bit worried about the heat this weekend (91-94!!!), but it's just the DH and me and we plan to take it slow and easy. Have lots of pool and hot tub time built in to our weekend.

I don't mind if kids are in the hot tub as long as they treat it like a hot tub and NOT like a swimming pool. Of course, I'm not to shy to tell them if they are not using proper hot tub etiquette (much to the embarrassment of my family!)

Sounds like you had a great time. I agree with your assessment of POFQ vs. POR!

I know you'll have a great time. I really loved how the hot tub was separate and enclosed by trees. It was so relaxing. I don't mind kids either, but I was kind of worried for one infant, the mother was enjoying the hot tub so much she didn't want to leave. This hot tub is one of the hottest I've ever been in and I was hoping the baby didn't get sick later, their little bodies heat up so quickly. Gotta be careful for those little ones. Have fun!

The purpose of the hot tub is really for adults. It is one of the few things where an adult can go to unwind. I feel that the babies, especially do not belong there.... Just my opinion. There are pools and kiddie pools galore for them.....As you have said, babies overheat so easily and can become very ill from that....

It's only about a ten minute stroll along a riverbank pathway. Or get the ferry boat back if you like, that's fun too.

Is the hot tub right next to the main pool?

Very near to it, but not right next to it (the hot tub is rather nicely secluded, in fact, just the other side of the pool bar). The only downside of this is that you can't easily watch kids in the main pool while you're in the hot tub. Or maybe that's an advantage?

I'mwithGrumpy that you for your post. I picked this resort for Sept after staying at the sprawled out resort of Caribbean Beach. Glad to hear that everything is as close as we want it. Glad that you had a great time!

We are leaving in 17 days for our stay at POFQ. We have a water view room. What is the best building to request with water view? I'm thinking Bldg 2 or 5 would be good for view of river and still keep us close to the pool.
