They were fine. In the mornings they were lined up ready to go. Now, if you go to the theme park and come back early you have to wait a little longer, but nothing to complain about.

Welcome to the DIS!!!! Sorry, but I'm pretty sure roll aways are not available at all. They want to be sure people won't pack more than 4 adults in.

Before I booked my trip I asked about roll aways and they said you could get one for $15 extra per night plus tax. Originally my family was going to do a family only vacation and stay in the same room and get a roll away. We later decided to invite a family friend and get two rooms at POFQ.

I had no idea you could do this. That would make life so much easier for me. I have an almost 17DS and an almost 11DD. There is no way they would sleep together. The boy smells bad and the girl is a freak! Ha Ha!

Hot tub directly across from our room, pool a few steps away from there.
Sounds like Rm 5201 -- the room we had the first time we went, Oct. 2007.

I'm headed to POFQ Jan 30-Feb 6 and have booked a King Room. Can folks who have stayed in a King Room there let me know what kind of views they had and if there are any specific room numbers or buildings to request for a great view?

Rooms with a king-size bed are sprinkled throughout the resort. They aren't just in one area.

You can always request a water view, but there's no way to guarantee it because water view, just like king bed, is a bookable category that costs more per night compared with a standard room. ANd there's no way to pay to guarantee both.

In addition, in my personal opinion, "view" at a Moderate resort has very little meaning because your window and door open onto an exterior corridor, so if you have you curtains open to enjoy the view that means that everyone walking by has a great view of YOU.

In addition, you want to avoid requesting specific room numbers, since the rooms assigner will have no way of knowing WHY you want that room, and if that rom is taken (which is likely), they'll have no way to know how else to give you what you want, and then you'll get just any old room. It can't hurt to request "water view" and see what happens.

I've got a week til we leave and am getting that wicked excited feeling.
I wanted to ask what everyone thought was the "to-do" thing for POFQ.

Our 2 must do's......... Visit Shelly at the Mardi Grogs pool bar. She is the best bartender around. It's a joy to watch her in action and chit chat, because you can tell she absolutely loves her job. Tell her Bill and Terri said "hello" and ask her how her bear is doing!

Also....make sure to stop in the Scat Cat lounge and see Elliot Dyson. He performs Wed-Sat and puts on quite a show.

ITA! I requested a water view and thought that it was going to be well worth teh extra money. Well, if you stood out on the outdoor corridor it was lovely but from the room? Not so much. Also I got bldg 1 which was teh furthest from the buses and food court. Not an issue normally, but that trek was never ending when carrying a sleeping child at teh end of a very long day.

POFQ is a pretty resort and IMO the best way to enjoy that waterview is to go down and relax on the benches scattered about and use the money to purchase a cocktail to sip on that bench

We requested a standard view room and when we checked in we were given a "garden view" room which was lovely even from inside the room we could watch the birds and rabbits and squirrels every day without them being aware that they had been seen. We often saw the river boats go by too since we were in room 3208 just a short walk to anywhere really and great views.

I'm in two minds about the value of water views too. If you get a really nice river-view room (especially at POR, where the river views are also the closest to the main building) then it's probably a nice feature, but otherwise there are plenty of really nice locations all over both Port Orleans resorts without paying the extra money - especially at POFQ where there are very few poor locations.

In May I paid for a standard room, and when I checked in I was given an upgrade that I didn't even know about as I did online check in and received my packet when I arrived. My room was ready, so as I trekked to bldg 6, on the second floor, I found I was walking on the outside corridor facing the river. I was getting so excited and found my room on the corner end. I was flabbergasted!! My first time at POFQ and I was just so stunned It truly was a room with a view. You just never know where they'll put you.

We were in Rm 5323 and I think it was a perfect room. King bed, corner room, waterview. From one window we could look up toward POR and from the other window we could look across the river. Being on the farthest corner of Building 5 meant there wasn't much foot traffic past our room, so we could have the curtains open if we wanted. But often I just stood outside at the rail and enjoyed the view.
