I have to say that I was happy when my family wanted POFQ on our last trip, they were looking at CSR but i really find that the size and the theme of POFQ suits me. I can honestly say that while I love the convenience of the monorail and love AKL, I do nto feel that I am deprived at POFQ.

Does anyone know the hours of operation for the laundry room at POFQ? I think I will have to do laundry sometime during my trip.

Question Do the formerly "smoking" rooms still smell "smokey"?

We have requested building 4 at POFQ. I read that this used to be one of the smoking buildings. DH and I are extremely sensitive to smoke and this would just kill us with sinus headaches...

I am aware that a no smoking policy has been in place since 2007, but the rooms were remodeled earlier (Reopened March 2004) and smoke is really hard to "get out" of the fabrics and carpets.

So have any Building 4 People noticed a smokey smell?

Also what room numbers do you recommend and why?

Thanks for the help,
Smoochies,
Marlton Mom

Not all of bldg 4 was smoking - we stayed in bldg 4 in 2002, 2005 and 2006 and never any smoke smell at all. I have severe asthma, so it would have been an issue for me. Not to worry - enjoy looking forward to your stay!

I might be wrong on this but it seems to me I used my room key (KTTW card) to open the door to the laundry facility. So I'm not sure there are actually hours. One word of advice -- carefully choose your dryer. Some of them had gummy candy stuck inside that I'm sure could transfer to your own clothes. It took me a good bit of time to find a dryer that didn't have anything questionable in it. Have a great trip!

Thanks for the info!! I wouldn't even think about checking the dryer.

Ewww....me either. We've used the dryers at CBR for the past 3 years and they were great, clean and only needed one cycle to dry our full load. I hope the washers and dryers at POFQ are just as nice.

Riverside's Alligator Bayou has bed frames with posts which you could raise fairly easily, but Riverside's Magnolia Bend and (I think) French Quarter rooms have enclosed boxes underneath the beds which would be hard to raise.

As has been said, contact the Disney Special Assistance folks for help.

The laundry room is available 24/7, but after certain hours you may need to use your room key to access it.

Subbing...I'm going to read this thread, but can anyone tell me if building 4 is the closest building to the bus stops? We've booked a last minute trip at POFQ for next month, so I'm scrambling to plan everything, without knowing much about the resort. TIA!

Yes it is - see the map in the first message in this thread for the resort layout.
