Long Hair nagging - The DIS Discussion Forums

I have long hair, I have it the length it is for the basic reason that I like it that long. So why is it I keep getting nagged to cut it into a short bob, do it for charity I get told, you are too old only teenagers should have long hair, it will drain the energy from your body. There may come I time I will have short hair (have had it in the past) but untill then aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I am fed up of all this and the more I get told to cut it the more determined I am to keep it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Goldie Hawn has long hair and she isn't exactly a teenager is she - sorry can't do the question mark as typing one handed as i have a baby asleep on my other arm. I've never heard the one about long hair draining energy from your body - blocking up the plug hole maybe

- a problem I am well aware of having long hair myself.
As long as you like it that's all that matters.

I completely agree my daughters hair is down to her bum atm shes 9,we've haggled over cutting it,but she wants her hair long,and I've left it be (give or take an inch or so)..its your hair,and if you like it you keep it..Dont let anyone tell you otherwise

I have not been to a hairdresser in years. I think it has just stopped growing. People used to always tell to get it cut but at 44 I think they know I am not going to.

I know exactly how you feel.

my hair grows like crazy (seriously - I'm like a 'girls world' doll, just pull it and hey presto its down to my bum) I alternate between long and short depending on how much time I have to get to the hairdressers (right now thats not so much) its so much easier when its long, when short I spend ages and a ton of products getting it to go right.
Keep it long I say!

I'm the same a Carol - my hair just grows really quickly.

I went to the hair dressers last week and asked her to cut 4" off and she kept asking - "are you sure - that's a lot to cut off!"

I told her it had only taken 5 months to get that long and she just looked at me as if I was lying! I have my hair chopped off every 6 months and then just let it grow again. It get's to the point where its just long and lanky and that's when it comes off.

I've just decided to grow my fringe out and you watch it take ages!

My mother drives me nuts about me getting my hair cut.......

It's only just past my shoulders (doesn't seem to want to grow any longer

) but she's, obviously, of the opinion that anyone over the age of 40 should have a 'nice, short, bob'

Think my lovely, new, fella might have something to say if I had it cut short too........

She would approve of me mine is waist length and is staying that way. They keep threatening to get that pair on what not to wear to do a make over on me, but I have spent a fair amount of money buying clothes and I will not let anyone throw away good clothes and turn me into somone else. Mind you one of them thinks I need to be told how to have a good time. I like to go out and have a few drinks her idea of a good night is to get smashed isnt going to work!

What really got my goat up is when they threaten to bring sissors in and cut it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry no one is getting away with that I told them that is assult and I will complain to the police!
