Finally realized that I deserve better

It took me all summer to figure out that I would be better off single, but here I am. my gf finally decided to act single one to many times. Now she is. Honestly I am doing great. Our daughter is struggling, but that it is to be expected. I am more relaxed than I have been for months.

I really appreciate everyone's advice and thoughts from when I posted earlier this summer. I was a little slow on the uptake but I finally got to the point that I decided I deserve better than what I was getting.

It has come to light since the split up that my ex is sleeping with a 19 year old. She is 33 so that is pretty disgusting to me. It does show where she is at in her life. I hope that she is able to find what she was looking for in her new life. To her credit she has been very good about spending time with our 5 year old.

Just wanted to announce to the world that my life is moving on.

Next time DD and I go to Disney we will be having an awesome 1 mother daughter trip.

I am glad to hear that you are moving along. All of that stress had to be hard on you with the MS too.

(((hugs))) splitting up is hard. I've been there. But you're right -- you ARE better off. I'm glad you were able to arrange for her to continue to spend time with your daughter. That's so important. Hang in there .... life will be coming up roses before you know it!!

I remember your original post. Breakups are never easy but I'm glad you're doing ok. It's good that she's willing to spend time with your daughter, hopefully that will make things easier.

Good that you are able to move on and make a life for yourself that will hopefully include someone who shares your same values.

The child will be fine. She has you!

I look into the window of my mind
Reflections of the fears I know I've left behind
I step out of the ordinary
I can feel my soul ascending
I am on my way
Can't stop me now
And you can do the same
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
It's never too late to try
What have you done today to make you feel proud?

Being single is OK. You have 100% of your time to devote to your DD. But don't cut yourself off from the possibility of a new and better romance. Maybe not right away, maybe not for a couple of years, but the right person may come along when you least expect it.

Chin up and remember you are the better person for knowing that she was causing you such pain. No one deserves to be played for a fool.

Thanks everyone

Hey thanks for all of your support. I am doing well. My DD is doing well too. She has her moments but I am confident that it is better for both of us to be out of the chaos.
