The Wave on the Dining Plan

So it is my understanding that due to the free dining plan some restaurants have taken certain items off the menu as to not lose too much money I guess. Some places have taken off the Filet- anyways- I was wondering if anyone knows if they have taken off the beef tenderloin entree from the Wave during free dining??
Has anyone been to the Wave recently and was the beef on it? Thanks!

I did not eat there when I was at WDW during free dining, however when I saw their menu it was still listed.

The Wave had filet on the menu September 1. I don't recall seeing a beef tenderloin. Nobody in my party was interested in ordering beef, but I did notice the filet because of all the talk about "no filets at Disney" that's been on the boards lately.

It has not been confirmed in any way that any WDW restaurant has removed menu items specifically because of free dining. While some menus have been changed, it it speculation that free dining is the reason.

If the restaurants that took off the filets (and not all of them did) put them back in October, then the speculation may have been correct.

Don't know what restaurants these people have been going to that supposedly have removed the better cuts of beef from the menues...not true when we were there. Personally, I think it's a lot of DDP bashers repeating rumors...we ate at several table service with menu restaurants last week, and all had at least one nice steak offered, some had more than one cut available. This was during Free Dining.

We enjoyed superb beef at the Wave on Tuesday, September 2nd. We had the grilled beef tenderloin...it was wonderful: large cut, seasoned & cooked perfectly. We actually preferred it to the steaks we had at the Cali Grille in May 2008.

One nice steak is NOT a filet mignon. That is the only kind of steak I eat. I have watched Disney remove filets from most of the 1 TS restaurants, now it's just Le Cellier and The Wave that have them. I can remember my first Free Dining I ate Filet every night.

We can debate if it's the DP or the economy or Disney just being cheap. The fact is it's been removed from a lot of restaurants. Filet mignon is my favorite food and if Disney stops serving it then I will go off site to get it.

Thanks so much for your answers! Very excited about all the food next week- whether I can get free Filet everywhere or not! I'll be sure to get the good stuff where I can :-) Can't wait!!!

I ate at the Wave last week - I did have a filet. The service was pretty bad and the food was so-so. It may have been an off-night, but I have no plans to go back.

I was in WDW Aug. 10-20 BEFORE the free DDP began and the filet had been removed from the menu at the Captain's Grill and Turf Club. LeCellier still had one of the two filets still on the menu. I was not on the DDP and was willing to pay for this cut of beef, but it was no longer an option....I got the prime rib at the Captain's Grill and was disappointed with it. I believe the filet is still on most signature restraurants as we did check out the menu at Narcossees (we cancelled our ADR though and ate at the Cap. Grill--we wanted to stay close to our resort because of "FAY"). That was a bad choice and we should have kept our Narcossees ADR. Live and learn!

This is not entirely correct. It's been reported that Maya Grill has a filet on the menu. Boatwrights apparently has one also (I haven't seen anyone report the removal of that one).

We got power on Monday. We got home on Saturday night, boy was it hot in my house. I spent a lot of time outside playing with the kids in the neighborhood. I would do housework early in the morning when it was cooler outside or late in the evening before the mosquitoes came out.

Just returned on Thurs night after a 15 day trip. Ate alot of Filet. At Narcoossees we had twin filets and a lobster tail. It was awsome. We ate at alot of places because we upgraded to Deluxe while on free dining. We had twin lobster tails at Captain Jacks. They were HUGE. Maya Grill had them and almost all the places had them. We went to Citrcose and ordered the Rib Eye. I thought it would be alittle steak, WRONG it was a 20 oz. Rib Eye that was so tender. Lots of great food. We ate 42 table services.
