Thanks for the 'welcome'! I noticed your ticker.....can't wait until Sunday . The best part of this trip is that our kids have no idea and we won't tell them until Sunday a.m. before we leave for the airport . We'll be the ones at BWV wearing the Red Sox hats & shirts . We are owners at SSR (and AKV) as well - so "Hi neighbor" !

Laura (RachelTori) What a wonderful thread you have created. I have been away on vacation to ......Wisconsin not WDW (we had a great time) and missed this entirely. Thank you Goofy Joofy for sending me over here.

I will go through my AKL info and see if I have anything I can add. We have stayed concierge on each of our visits. AKL is one of the VERY best concierge on property. I just talked with Don the other day. Things are exciting at the lodge with all the new animals and new building.

ITA: AKL-CL is *the best*! And their IPO staff is second-to-none!

I'll be talking to Don & crew again in early January for our July trip!

5 days until AKL CL...F&W....Sunrise Safari.....PFTS.....MNSSHP....V&A's....

Now it's been a while since I've stayed CL (on a mission to try them all and now I'm an AKV owner ). Anyway, I got a phone call from IPO to inform me of check in process and to see if I needed anything else. That is such a nice touch.

I sure do miss AKL and can't wait to be home.

Wow...it's great to see such glowing reviews of the CL at AKL/V! Our trip isn't for another 10 1/2 months...when should I contact them? When I made the reservation the CM I spoke to said the IPO would contact me at some point? This is our first time staying CL!

I got an email from them a little while after booking. They may be waiting just outside that 180 window. You can certainly email them today if you wish.

They are the best CL on property....although GF is a very close second.

About 2 months ago members with AKV-CL reservations for the end of Sept through end of Oct were notified that they'd have to be moved due to some exterior maintenance that was closing some of those rooms. We have a 1br AKV-CL booked 10/4-11 and we were first told our reservation wasn't impacted, the next day we were called telling us we were indeed being moved to BWV only to be told the very next day we wouldn't move but would keep our AKV-CL room. It was a very stressful few days wondering what would happen and where we'd be staying.

Now, if you're looking for an AKL-CL room then never mind but since you said AKV I thought I'd let you know that status if you didn't already know.

Thanks so much for your post As I read it, I did recall reading about this on the DVC boards awhile back! It was very unfortunate for those of you who had a vacation planned etc!
I have a very short stay....was just hoping to get it as I have a late flight check out day, and thought it would be nice to have access to the lounge

I do have a savanna view, so I cant complain!

DH and I got back Sunday night. Had a great room location in 5680 at the BC. I just wanted to send my thanks again to this thread and Laura for starting this thread. If anyone has questions, I'd be glad to help out .


*unfortunately I don't have pics ready yet...need to wait to get moved in to our new house this weekend. I'm hoping I'll be ready to post them next week!*

What time do they put out the breakfast items? Is there assess 24 hours to get a water or soda...or snack? Are the rooms renovated? What level is the club located on? Thanks

Breakfast starts at 7 but they have coffee/tea outside the lounge at 6:30.

I'm not sure about the access..if you did want drinks/snacks, I would sugget taking some back one afternoon (sodas, crackers, ect) and putting in your fridge. DH and I did this with some water (gave us a large glass bottle) and sodas for when we get back late at night.

The rooms are completely renovated and look very fresh/new.

The club level is on the 5th floor, right outside the elevators.

Has anyone seen the BW deluxe concierge rooms since the rehab? I've seen pictures of the standard rooms but none of the deluxe or of the Innkeepers Club. Anyone have any? Thanks

Just returned from deluxe concierge BWI room 4257---great room and great location! No, I don't have pictures--but the room was obviously just renovated, everything fresh and lovely. Loved the Mickey lamp and the embroidered "DBR" pillows on the beds, along with the huge live plant on the floor. Everything was clean , smelled great, the room was right outside the door to the concierge lounge, had a fantastic view of the boardwalk and entertainment. The deluxe concierge rooms a very large, with the extra sitting room which has another flat screen TV, large table, lamp, couch/pull out, large chair.

I just wanted to say for those who have never stayed Club Level before that if you have contacted the IPO department for your Resort by phone or e-mail and are getting no responses from them, don't think that is the fault of the Cast Members who are working at the Club Level lounges at the Deluxe Resorts. The main reason is that the IPO Cast Members and the Club Level Cast Members are completely different from one another. So the Cast Members who work at the Resorts will have nothing to do with planning your ADR's and everything else you have requested before you arrive. So if the IPO never contacted you don't take any frustrations out on the Cast Members who work at the Resorts because it was not their fault.
