Just back from CBR

We stayed at CBR 9/5 through 9/8 and were not disappointed in the least. We were in Trinidad South and the pirate rooms were just adorable. The walk to Old Port Royale wasn't bad at all and we spent plenty of time at the main pool.

Negatives: When we checked in our room wasn't ready which was fine because it was only 10:30AM. We had connecting rooms with friends who had checked in the night before, so we knew which room was ours. I was told we would receive a text message when the room was ready. We went to the pool for 3 hours and never got a text. It was now after 3. I checked the room with our keys and it was ready. I called the front desk to let them know that I never received a text. No apology. Nothing. The attitude was ridiculous. But, we didn't let that ruin our stay. The only other negative is the window a/c units. I think it aggravated my son't cough.

We would definitely stay here again. The grounds are just beautiful.

We just got back from CBR too. I was also supposed to get a text when our room was ready and I never did. I called resort from AK parking lot and was told our room number. The CM I spoke to was very nice and she did apologize. I think the texting thing isn't working out so great.

Thanks for the review of CBR! We are going in 12 days! We booked the pirate room too. We can't wait! How were the buses? How were the crowds? Thanks!

I'm so excited for you that it's your first WDW vacation! You must be bouncing off the walls! It's really great to do your homework on the disboards but remember to enjoy yourself no matter what freebies you don't get ... as it can feel like people are always getting free upgrades and whatnot.

CBR is a GREAT place to stay for your first visit -- although I have to stay I've never not enjoyed a Disney resort.

Talking

We just did a split stay between CBR & AS Sports. We loved CBR & would definitely go back. One negative - I also did not care for the window AC units...they were very loud. I preferred the AC at the value resort.

The buses were great. Longest wait was 12 minutes for a Hollywood Studios bus on Monday morning. Otherwise, I had no complaints about the transportation. They also have the internal shuttle buses running on a very regular basis if you don't want to walk around the resort since it is so big.

I'm glad to hear that you didn't let the "no text message" ruin your CBR stay. Will you be posting pictures of your pirate room? I know we'd all like to see them.

I have no clue how to post pics here.

On another note, I forgot to mention that my friend's room had a bit of a different set up. The bathroom had a sliding door and the sinks were inside the bathroom area. There was a small closet outside of the bathroom. I had never seen anything like it.

Wow, that is different. Was this in a pirate room?
