Shopping at Wilderness Lodge

We're staying at Wilderness Lodge in August - our first stay at anything other than a value!

What is the shopping like at WL? What unique items can you find there that aren't available elsewhere in the World? What are your favorite purchases and why?

I love the WL for shopping! Of course, like other resorts there are lots of "Wilderness Lodge" items. One favorite: Character Totem Poles - comes in varying sizes. I bought a small one to hold the mousekeeping tips and a larger one that sits on my dresser. Another favorite is a WL leather jacket.

There are a lot of wildneress type items - lots of bears, blankets and things. It just is a fun shop and I always find something unique to buy.

The main shop at WL is the Wilderness Lodge Mercantile, which has western or rustic style clothing and character items. WL does not have the number of shops that GF or BWI has, but it is a nice shop.

I love the WL!! I think they had some of the more unique items from the resorts. We bought the Toteem poles...they are adorable! There is also the WL lincoln log toy building that is really cute too. We also have the t shirts, sweats, etc...they are pretty much all with a woodsy theme.

Lots of cute stuff including some Christmas-y stuff a lot of the time. Lots of Wilderness Lodge clothing and more rustic clothing... and log cabin-y decorative items.

Makes me want to live in a lake house!!

When I stayed there last (in 2004) we picked up a picture frame with the character totem pole along the side. I created a little collage with pressed pennies, receipts, photos and have it on my night stand.
We also had to get my mother some snuggy slumber wear... she forgot to pack pjs. Silly momma...

We are WDW semi-regulars, but haven't been at the WL shop for a few years.
Last time we were there it was one of the better resort shops. Can't hurt to take a peek.

I bought an original oilskin Australian Drover coat there, still one of my favorites. Also got a WL denim shirt. Both were pricey but it's WDW...
