I don't know what to do about this. I actually booked the HCR today for my family. The only problem is that I have a 3YO DD and 1.5YO DS. I'm worried that it may be too scarey for them. I called Disney today and they said that nothing is too scarey at Disney. I need feedback on this. The cool thing is that we'll be on the very first carriage ride on 10/3 at 7:30!

I booked today for my daughters birthday for 10-18. We are super excited and hoping that the headless horseman rears his ugly head for the ride! I know this is a little costly but if they do it up in true Disney style I bet it will be worth every penny and then some. JMHO. Hope everyone enjoys!!

I just did a quick search but couldn't find any discounts. I believe you still have to pay in cash or room card, maybe that's why.

Thank you...I was not sure. Does anyone know if they need a credit card to hold it when you book it?

I'm assuming you do since they charge $35 for no shows-cancellations, so the only way they would be able to charge you is to the credit card.

Our family will also be down there on the 3rd and I think we may also try to do that. I wonder if since one of my kids is above 9 if that will keep up from being able to do it? I have a 12, 9 & 5. Like everyone else here, no way I would do two.
I did the hayride back in 2005 and the two my oldest daughter liked it (she was 9 at the time). Of course she also loves Tower of Terror. My daughter who was 6 at the time didn't go on the hayride with us. |

Just called in to reserve a time on 10/3 and they said it was booked up. Not just for that day, but all days. This sounds like a problem with the system. Of course the guy seemed clueless, but this is probably normal for that department....

I bet they are already booked up. When I called to make our ressie I called on the 90 day out date. The CM thought I asked for a date 2 days earlier and that day had NO availibilty. We were at FW in April and took a carriage ride and the CM hinted that they would be making a change this year and that it would be totally worth it.
Regarding the credit cards...yes, they do ask for a CC to hold the reservation. Good Luck everyone!!! Hey, maybe we should start a share and or cancel/trade thread for the haunted carriage rides. It states that they hold 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 children. So, maybe somebody out there with only 2 would like to share to help absorb the cost? Or if somebody would like to trade or even canel they could maybe post here first so another disser could try to get the date.

Just called back in to check and they said 8:30, 9:30 and 10pm were available on 10/3. I don't know if they had that many cancellations or if there was a problem with the system when I called 2 weeks ago.
Oh well it doesn't matter. I grabbed 8:30.

I used the credit card to hold the reservation for the HCR. They didn't say anything about cash... I better bring the room card just in case! Good thing you mentioned that... I don't usually carry a lot of cash!

This sounds like fun! I booked without trouble over the phone. Can't wait to surprise the family with this one!
Is anyone familiar with Ft Wilderness enough to know if the drive in movie/campfire activities would still be going on at 8pm when our ride is over?

The movie will be in progress by time you get there. The campfires remain lit throughout the movie, so you can still do smores. You will, however have missed Chip & Dale and the Sing-a-long.
