Day 2, Part 3

Leaving Adventureland, we headed for Tomorrowland to do Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear. Space Mountain was jerkier than I expected, but it was fun. We LOVED Buzz!! We rode it twice!!! That was really a fun ride.

Ty wanted to ride the race cars, but I was able to put him off until our next visit on Day 6. This may be where we stopped and got our first Mickey-head ice creams! We were looking forward to that, especially Shay Lynne. She asked before we left how much those cost, and I told her it didn't matter and that I would buy her one. She said I had to, then, even if they cost $250.00. I told her that would be fine. That ice cream was yummy! It's not like we hadn't been eating our weight in ice cream for two days already, but it was good! I felt like we needed to head toward the middle/front again because it was getting dark by this time. Before we left, though, I stopped and bought Shay Lynne a mouse ears headband to wear with her Minnie skirt on Day 6.

I actually think I messed up earlier as I'm pretty sure this is when we went to see Aerial. She was about to leave for a parade, but I'm thinking now it was the night parade instead of the afternoon parade. Oh well, at least you have pictures, and who cares about the order of things now?

This is the point where things started going downhill. We walked back through the castle because I wanted to look at the mosaics, and Lance said he would meet us on the other side because it was time for a smoking break.. I saw him go to the right, so we walked through and were unable to ponder the mosaics because of all the traffic coming through, so I just thought I would go to the first place off to the right where the roads meet to wait for Lance. He never showed up. We waited for at least twenty minutes, during which a cranky CM told me I could only wait there with my stroller for about five more minutes. I was starting to panic because I didn't think he'd brought his phone (too heavy, I guess), and it was getting more and more crowded all the time. We took a few pics of the castle changing colors, even though I really was worried at that point. I've never seen so many people in my life. We finally had to move on, so we walked up and down the right side of that big circle frantically looking for Lance. Finally, since Madison had her phone and I had mine, I sent her and Ty a little ways to look for him. I miraculously found a spot to park the stroller (would've been such a perfect place to watch Spectromagic), and just stood there waiting for the kids to get back. Then Lance FINALLY came walking by and saw me and was really mad at me! He saw me there waiting and thought I'd gone to get a spot at the parade instead of meeting him. It was all just a horrible misunderstanding. He hadn't walked AROUND the castle like I thought. He had smoked, then walked through it to look at the mosaics, too, thinking that we would linger in there, and then he waited right at the castle exit for thirty minutes or so. Good grief. I never dreamed he would be at the exit door of the castle. So the night ended up being not so magical after all with all of the grumpiness, and we left. I know that in time the great memories of the day will overshadow the ending of our first day in MK. Thankfully this has always been our experience with past mishaps on vacation. I was really bummed to miss the parade and the fireworks, though, but you know how it is sometimes. MEN!! It really had been a great day! In spite of everything, I did get a couple of pics of the castle at night while we were waiting on Lance. Haha!!

Up next, Day 3--our first day at Universal! (Scroll down for Day 3)

Sorry the first day didn't end so great but I have the same experience, the mishaps tend to fade away with time.

Day 3, Part 1

This day started off great! I knew that they were doing pics with Disney characters in the theater, so we had to make sure the twins wore their Mickey and Minnie outfits for the pics. This was to be our first Universal Studios day, so we would just let them change into their SpongeBob outfits before we left. When we walked around the trees to the theater, we saw Belle, Pluto, and Goofy outside!

There was a little line with Belle, so Shay Lynne said she thought it'd be OK to go on in and see Mickey and Minnie.

That was fun!! This was one of the mornings we had ice cream for breakfast. Nothing else--just ice cream. I felt like a kid again because I loved it as much as they did! I really do love ice cream.

Then, after pigging out, we went back and let the twins change their clothes, then it was off to Universal to meet up with SpongeBob again, this time dressed appropriately!! Everyone was excited about Universal because the kids had heard they have scary rides.

We were immediately impressed with the treatment we received on our first ride at Universal, Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast. It was such a fun ride, and the kids loved it! Even Ty and Madison loved it because it had ALL the Nickelodeon characters that they've watched over the years. The ride ended and we were led into the Nickelodeon store, and we noticed the line to meet SpongeBob. He wasn't out yet, though, so the kids and Lance looked around in the store while I held our spot in line. Then a couple of minutes later, out he came!! The kids ran over to meet him, and they just loved him! Like I was saying before, SpongeBob sticks his little arms straight out, and that's the way he hugs. It's pretty funny!

Don't they look cute in their outfits? Isn't that a cute background behind them all? I just love the picture! We were entitled to one free picture at Universal, and of course it had to be the pic with SpongeBob!

Next, we went across the street and did the Shrek ride. It was fun, too! There were a couple of crude comments in Shrek that I would prefer my kids not to have heard, but it was nothing vulgar. We aren't goody-goody or anything, but I did notice. We thought the attraction was great, but we are huge Shrek fans. I just love the way the movies allude to so many fairytales and folklore--I guess it appeals to the librarian in me. On the way out of the Shrek store, there was a worker dressed in a medieval costume. He said to Shay Lynne, "I see you have a SpongeBob outfit on...I think you need to go across the street and sop up the puddle Donkey made." Lance and I agreed that it was an inappropriate thing to say to a kid, but it went right over the twins' heads anyway. This was the last thing we heard during both days at Universal that we would consider inappropriate for younger kids. Anyway, we looked across and saw Shrek and Donkey, but there was a line. It also looked like it was about to storm--the temperature had dropped considerably, and the sky was dark gray. Right when we got in line, they announced that if it stormed, the characters would have to go inside. Then right after, they said that Shrek and Donkey had to take a five minute break. We were irritated because we had already stood there for a few minutes, but I thought back to what I'd read on DIS, and that characters need breaks, too, don't be irritated, etc. Meanwhile, the worker saw Clay's GAP and GKTW button and told us that we didn't need to wait for any character at Universal. She moved us to the front and told us Fiona would be coming out with Shrek and Donkey! The other people in line didn't get all three characters at once, the way we did. We were so excited, especially Ty because he thought Fiona was so pretty! He was bummed he didn't get his pic made with just her. She was a beautiful Fiona.

After Shrek, we ate lunch at the Monster Cafe while a huge rainstorm blew through. The food was pretty fair--we mostly had pizza and salad and pasta. After lunch, the rain had pretty much stopped, so we walked on down the road and saw Twister. We could not talk Shay Lynne into going on it. She hates tornadoes! I offered for everyone else to go and I would stay with her, but Lance said we'd just go do something else. Then we saw The Mummy, and Shay Lynne was scared of that, too. We walked on and saw Men in Black, and we definitely did that one since Lance loves MIB. We had so much fun on that one that we rode it twice! It was awesome!!! Unfortunately, they make you put all your things in a locker, so I didn't have my camera to steal a pic off their computer screens, but they were hilarious! The pics were really expensive at US, so we had to keep our picture-buying to a minimum.

After MIB, we decided we would ride the Simpsons. Lance and I have never been into The Simpsons, and I have never let my kids watch it, either (although it's probably not any worse than some other things they watch). In fact, the only episode I've ever watched all the way through was when I taught high school English and one of my colleagues had the one taped about Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven". It was awesome--I showed it to my classes around Halloween. In fact, it's my understanding that all The Simpsons' Halloween episodes are great, but I wouldn't know since we aren't in the habit of watching. Anyway, that's the extent of my Simpsons knowledge, but we decided to ride the ride anyway because it was new and we had seen signs all over about it, even in the Walmart near GKTW. I cannot say how awesome it was!!! We LOVED it!!! You have to ride it if you ever go!!! I took a pic of the kids outside "Krustyland"...

We were still very impressed so far with how we were being treated at US. We were escorted back for every ride, everyone was so very nice to us, and they never made us feel as though we were putting them out. Lance even noticed this, and I consider him to have had a totally objective opinion since he never gets on the DISboards and hadn't read of other wishtrippers' experiences.

By this time, we decided to move on the Islands of Adventure even though there had been a great deal of US we hadn't seen yet. I had wanted to do E.T. and see Fievel's Playground and Curious George, but I wanted to see both parks just in case we decided we didn't want to come back for our second day (although by now that was not seeming very likely to happen). So at IOA, the first thing we did was head toward Marvel Superhero Island for the Incredible Hulk rollercoaster. It just looked awesome! But sadly, the twins weren't tall enough to ride it. They were so upset!! I offered to sit with them while the other three went on, and they were back in no time. Lance told me that when we came back on Day 5, I definitely needed to ride it because it was really, really a great coaster. Next, we headed to Dr. Doom's Fearfall and Spiderman. The twins weren't tall enough for Dr. Doom, either, and by this time they were really mad that Ty and Madison were getting to ride a second ride that they weren't tall enough for. Lance waited with us, then when they got back, we went on Spiderman. It was another amazing ride! WOW!! It was this really cool 3-D thrill ride that made you feel like you were climbing buildings like Spidey does. Everyone loved it, and afterwards I noticed a sign pointing across the street that said "Meet Spiderman", but Clay was a little grumpy and didn't want to go. We moved on and skipped the island of Toon Lagoon because it looked like mostly water rides, and besides, we had to get back to GKTW for Christmas.

We went on to Jurassic Park, and everyone wanted to do the River Adventure there. I sat out on it because I didn't feel like getting wet. They all said it was fun, but Madison was mad because she lost her hat on that ride. It was a cute hat, but she had to tell it goodbye. At least we have a few pics of it--LOL! Then we went on to the Pteranodoon Flyers. That was fun, too, but short. It really was neat, though, although I'm not sure I would think it was worth it to wait in a long line for. Here is a random pic of the twins sitting in their stroller...

Next, we bypassed the Lost Continent, although I really, really wanted Lance and the kids to get to ride the Dueling Dragons coasters, Fire and Ice. But we decided they could ride those when we came back (which by this time we had already decided to do). We went on to Seuss Landing, which I was really looking forward to since we are all Dr. Seuss freaks (even Lance!). It is so cool over there! I knew we didn't have a whole lot of time to spend there, but we did make time to ride the High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride because Lance and I both agreed that we would probably have a great view of the entire island from up there. It wasn't all that thrilling, but it was sure cute! And the workers there, again, were so, so sweet to us. We truly felt as though we'd been treated like royalty all day long. Here's a pic of the kids on the Seuss train...

While we were there, we ran into One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, and we decided the kids had time to hop on. It was fun for them to try and dodge the water coming out of the fish! Poor Madison--no more hat for her. Lance had told her he would buy her another one, so as you can see, she was over it by now.

We'd had a terrific day, and now it was time to head back to GKTW for Christmas dinner and to see Santa! On the way out of US, Clay wanted a stuffed SpongeBob, and how could I deny him? Here he is acting silly on the ride back...

Silly kid.

Hang on for Part 2!

Day 3, Part 2

We headed right into the Gingerbread House for supper without even cleaning up first since we were pressed for time. I doubt we were the only ones. Below is a pic of Clay pondering that player piano. I am the pianist at our church, so he's been around pianos and piano-playing all his life, but he had never seen one play by itself. He was pretty enthralled with it, kind of like the popcorn in Minnie's kitchen.

On our way out, Shay Lynne grabbed a quick ride on the merry-go-round. I took a pic because she likes unicorns. So do I--I used to collect them when I was her age.

Walking over toward the Christmas celebration, Clay noticed that it was snowing! I don't know if you can tell here, but we could see it!

We saw the Gingerbread Man, Frosty the Snowman, and some elves! And then we went in to see Santa, himself!

Santa was so sweet to the kids. He asked Madison where we were going the next day, and Madison told him AK and DHS, so he told her to be sure and ride Everest, TOT, and the Aerosmith Rockin' Rollercoaster. After that, the kids could not stop talking about those three rides. They each got to pick a present, so Clay picked a Transformer, Shay Lynne picked a Fur-real Friends baby monkey, Ty picked some Star Wars figurines, and Madison picked a media player. It was really fun!! They had cotton candy, Shay Lynne got her face painted, and the kids had the opportunity to decorate a cookie, but by this time they were so tired that we decided to head back home. Besides, I had signed up for the twins to be tucked in by Mayor Clayton that night, so we needed to have them bathed and in bed by 9pm.

Here are the kids playing with their toys they had gotten for Christmas...

And then there was a knock at the door, and it was Mayor Clayton! Thankfully the kids were all ready for bed! He was so funny! He put them in bed and tucked them in, then he laid down beside them and started snoring himself!!! It was so funny--the kids laughed and laughed at him. Then he got up and covered up their faces up with the covers and played with them a little bit more, then he kissed them goodnight. On his way out, he gave them a signed picture of himself. It was so cute!! They stayed awake for a while longer, but they didn't get out of bed!

So that was the end of Day 3, and what a great day it had been!

Coming up, Day 4 at Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios... (Scroll down for Day 4)

Oh Amy,
I am so sorry, I should have warned you about Splash Mountain. That's why I love it so much. I just love the big splash! When we were with our friends (the ones I always call) we got stuck on Splash Mountain just past where the big splash happens. We were feeling really lucky that we were past it when the ride stopped. We did get to go out the back way and see what was behind the ride though.
I am so enjoying your report. It is wonderful to see how much fun you had. Sorry about the little misunderstanding about a meeting place. We have had that happen before in our family and I just hate the feeling that someone is missing and then to find out they thought you were missing makes it even worse!

Keep up the good work. I'll be waiting for more.

Denise

GKTW sounds absolutely fantastic!!! I'm lovin' that elephant trash can!! I cried when reading about all the stars on the ceiling of the castle.

You're so cute worrying that the kids didn't have their Spongebob outfits on when you saw Spongebob!

Your comment about It's a Small World- "But how can you go to WDW and not ride it? I don't know, but I'll find out next time I'm there." had me My mom loves that ride and I do not share her sentiment, either!

You "forked" Shay Lynne's hair!

I love the pic of Shay Lynne hugging Belle!

Gotta love all the lipstick kisses!!

I totally agree about the "handlers" that are with the characters. We met SO many sweet CMs there! They were much friendly then the CMs in the rest of the parks, or most of the characters, for that matter! I hope I didn't spoil your memory of Peter Pan and Wendy!

I don't know why they're always caging poor children with The Evil Emperor Zurg!

You are my kind of people, with all the ice cream!!!

I can't imagine having misunderstandings about where to meet others in your party

It's so special to me to get to see Clay wearing the shirt I made him in the parks!

I'm glad you finally got some special treatment at US! I'm sorry to hear that the CMs at MK don't put aside their grumpiness for MAW families.

It's a good thing we were doing all that walking each day to work off all that ice cream!!

If I got stuck on that ride, I KNOW it would be right where the big splash happens!! It's funny how they have it timed. You think you're going to get past it just in time, but NOPE, no such luck!! It is a fun ride, though, and I'm glad we didn't miss it.

I think we could be great friends, Heather! You totally get me. Don't worry about my Peter Pan/Wendy memory--I didn't have one! Looking at the pics you can tell how enthused they are. I truly think we may be the only wishtrippers to have experienced grumpy CMs. So many just rave about how great they are, so I don't understand what the deal was with us!

Thank you all for reading! I keep thinking our trip must be boring to others, but it's fun for me to type it all out and relive the memories.

Day 4, Part 1

Today was a two-park day!! We were going to AK and DHS. I wasn't sure how it would go, and we didn't get everything covered that I had hoped to. Still, I'm not sorry we did both parks because I was determined to at least see everything. I don't remember too much of anything special about the morning, except I am 100% certain we had ice cream after breakfast. In fact, Clay began to get irritated through the week that we stopped on most days in the Gingerbread House to eat real food instead of skipping that and going straight to the ice cream. It was all he cared to eat for breakfast! But I do remember that sometime in the midst of our morning oinking-out ritual, we went to the Castle of Miracles to see Clay's star. We'd gotten a notice the night before on the table in our villa that the Star Fairy had placed it on the castle ceiling, and we had the coordinates so we could locate it. It was cool to see his star and to know that it would remain there always. The pic below is of one of the GKTW volunteers pointing Clay's star out, then on our CD we got at the end of our stay, they had taken an up-close pic of his star for us (which I'm thankful for because I'd forgotten to do it).

We were doing Animal Kingdom first, then on to Hollywood Studios for the afternoon and evening. The twins had on their zebra-print outfits from Leslie/2cutekidz, and we were ready to go. I loved how adorable they looked with their matching zebra-print Mickey-heads, all dressed up for AK!!

The very first thing we did was get some PhotoPass pics taken in front of the Tree of Life. That thing is so neat, even it if is fake! I'll have to show you the pics after I get my CD. Then we went down inside the tree for "It's Tough to be a Bug". That was COOL. The queue was truly awesome, and I am so upset with myself for not taking some pics of it. People were behind us and there wasn't much of a line, so I didn't want to stop and make them wait while we took our pics. But anyway, we really enjoyed the show.

We didn't get as early a start as I would've liked, so I felt like we really had to rush through this park. We headed over to Expedition Everest next, I believe, and the twins were thrilled that they were tall enough for this one! This was their first really major coaster. They've ridden mine trains and things, but never a coaster like this. We all really, REALLY loved this one. It was just completely awesome, and I'm sad we didn't feel like we had the time to ride it again. We did get some good PhotoPass pics in front of Everest--to be posted later. I admit I swiped this pic from somewhere else because I didn't have my camera ready when we came upon this part. What am I saying? I wouldn't have dared to try and hold a camera on Everest!! This part really freaked everyone out except for me because I'd seen pics before. It was still fun for me, too, though.

After Everest, we headed over to the dinosaur area and rode Primeval Whirl. That looked so fun to us, but it beat the crud out of me, and Lance said the same thing. I'm certain I had bruises on my back the next day, although I forgot to check. That thing was painful! I recommend riding it with all four seats filled if at all possible because you don't want to be off to one side sitting by yourself. Wasn't as fun as it looked, but that's my opinion. Then we walked around and bypassed Nemo, although I had really wanted to see it. Instead we went and rode Dinosaur. OMGosh, that was something! I'm glad we rode that!!! The pic of us on that thing was absolutely hilarious. Madison is still sad we didn't buy it, but I had Little-spender Lance with me the entire week, so I refrained. I did take a pic of a pic. I hope you can see our faces. I do not look pretty. On the second pic I zoomed in a little more. I think the expressions on our faces are hilarious!! See Shay Lynne peeking through her hands? The other kids kept saying she was keeping her eyes shut through every scary ride.

Well, that was fun. So then we decided to go and find the Lion King show. I knew Lance wouldn't be too excited about this one, but I was determined to see it anyway. He wasn't ugly about it or anything, but I just know him and know he'd rather be on a thrill ride than watching a show. But we went anyway, and when we got there we found out we had just missed the start of a showing. Since we were in Camp Mickey-Minnie anyway and right by the characters, we decided to go see a few. The CMs there were extremely, extremely nice to us. The got us in immediately. The characters were awesome, too! They were always so sweet to Clay and to all the kids. The entire week I debated constantly on whether to leave his lanyard on and interrupt the scheme of his outfits or take it off and risk missing out on extra pixie dust because they wouldn't realize he was a wish kid. So we did it both ways here and there. Anyway, Minnie was just outstanding. She was so, so, so sweet and friendly. She loved my Mickey tank top I had on, and she even noticed my Mickey Mouse watch! I couldn't believe it. I don't know how they see out of those costumes. The kids had fun, too, and that was what counted to me. My camera did not do well here because the flash wouldn't go off. The Photopass pics are little better, but sadly, the photographer with Minnie wasn't very good. She could've gotten so many cute moments, but she didn't. In fact, I had to ask her to keep shooting because she seemed to be done after a couple of shots even though Minnie was there being all cute with my kids.

Since we were trying to kill time before the next Lion King show, we decided to go eat something really quickly before the next show. We ate at Pizzafari, and it was pretty good. I was aggravated at myself because I accidentally ordered an extra pizza, and you don't want to make that mistake when you're paying Disney food prices. The kids got cute plates to eat off of, but the straws in our drinks were so weird! I think they were cardboard. We didn't like that too much, but it was a minor thing, considering.

We headed right back to Lion King to catch the next show, and we had a few minutes to spare. We showed the CM Clay's GAC and button, but they would not let us in. Not to sound snotty or anything, but I was really surprised. Wasn't Clay's button supposed to get us some magic? Missing this show was going to mess up our day. Besides, it was starting to rain (thankfully, because we were melting in the heat). I tried asking a different CM if we could go in, but she just turned and asked the one who had denied us, so that didn't do any good. I was upset. I wasn't ugly to the CMs or anything, though--I was just disappointed inside. But we went on and did the safari thinking that maybe the rain would make more animals come out. Boredom alert! Someone else's pics of animals are never very interesting, but here they are anyway....

And here are the zebras we saw:

So that was fun, and we quickly headed back to Lion King and saw that show. It was amazing, and I'm so glad we saw it. Even Ty, the kid who wonders why they have to go and ruin Disney movies by putting music in them, really liked the show. And Madison (who is very musical) and the twins loved it. I don't know what Lance thought because I didn't ask! Sometimes we're happier not knowing all the facts in this life. We didn't get to do Pocahontas, either, but I'd heard to choose Lion King over Pocahontas, so that's what we did. That wraps up our day at Lion King, and by now it was almost 4pm!! We had to hurry to Hollywood Studios!!! We stopped to buy Clay an AK Mickey that he was wanting, and then we were off!

Day 4, Part 2

As it turned out, we missed a lot of the shows at DHS because we got there so late. We will just have to go back. Like many have said, though, the kids have no idea what they missed. Ignorance is bliss.

The first thing we did was get our pics taken with the big blue hat on...waiting on those, as you know. Then we headed for TOT!! The kids were really excited about this one! Especially the twins! I couldn't believe they weren't scared, but they didn't seem scared of anything (except for Shay Lynne with Twister and The Mummy at US). I have a feeling the child had her eyes shut during most everything she rode. Here are some pics of TOT. I was screaming like an idiot, as usual. Madison was bent over tending to Shay Lynne--she said she couldn't enjoy the ride because there was only a seat belt holding us in and she thought the twins might fall out. She has anxiety issues, but what a great big sis!

After TOT (which the kids loved and wanted to ride again), I subjected Lance to another show. I'd heard Beauty and the Beast was a must-do and Broadway quality, so off we went. (I'd taken note of the times on the way in). We loved it. In fact, we watched the movie today and Shay Lynne talked about the show at DHS, so I'm glad seeing it made her some memories. I've told you that Belle is her favorite princess, but one of the reasons why is because Belle loves books...and so does Shay Lynne. She's my reading fiend, so I thought this pic was appropriate:

Somewhere in there, we headed for Aerosmith's Rockin' Rollercoaster. My family was really looking forward to that! It was amazing! My kids love the way it takes off so fast, but it scares the pooey out of me every time (we rode it twice). I'm screaming my head off in this pic again. And don't be shocked--Shay Lynne has her eyes closed. Those two behind her and Madison are extras.

Phew! That was fun. We came out into the store and bought a few souveniers. I post this pic only to humiliate myself. Don't worry, I didn't buy the hat.

Somewhere in there, Shay Lynne got her another $250-Mickey-head ice cream bar.

Then we made our way over to Toy Story Mania. I really wanted to see The Little Mermaid, but we had to skip it for time's sake. Toy Story was a cool area! I found a huge Scrabble board, and I LOVE Scrabble!

Toy Story Mania was AWESOME!! Ty loved it more than Buzz Lightyear and Men in Black! He wanted to go with me because he thought he could beat me, but I rocked. I'm not bragging or anything, but I did really well! Usually Clay beats everyone at these games, but this time I even beat Clay. Then I learned that Lance had beat me by a few thousand. Boy, was I bummed about that, but I didn't let on that it bothered me.

We just walked around looking at everything after Toy Story Mania, and that's when I noticed that it was too late to do several things we'd wanted to do, like the Indiana Jones thing, the stunt show, and the Jedi Training Academy. I had forgotten to make signs anyway, though. But we went on and did Star Tours. It seemed pretty dated compared to The Simpsons ride at US (don't hate me for saying that). It was still cool, though.

We let Clay buy a Wizard Mickey, and we let Shay Lynne buy a Princess Minnie somewhere in there. Here are a few random pics we took while walking around...

By now it was getting late, and the kids were asking to ride TOT and Aerosmith one last time. We bought Clay at TOT t-shirt (would've bought one for the others, but they didn't care about it). Madison and I took these pics of each other. We thought the hotel was a cool background, although it didn't show up too well at night.

And here is our final ride on the TOT-- I zoomed in to the right side where we were. Lance didn't ride this time! I'm still screaming like an idiot. I don't know why I always do that!

Our final attraction at DHS was Fantasmic. I think Lance thought it was just another show, but when he saw how many were already seated and waiting for it, he realized he must be something to see. I think everyone was glad we stayed for it. We got a great seat in one of the top few rows that had been roped off as "handicap". At least we could get out of there quickly when it was over. Two parks in one day was exhausting!!! Here is Ty carrying Clay out of DHS because he said he was too tired to walk--what a great big brother...

I don't think I've mentioned this, but every single night when we got back to the villa we found presents waiting for all the kids, along with the GKTW newsletter for the next day. I don't want to say what all those presents were because I don't want to ruin the surprise for future wishtrippers, but I do want to point out that they were so generous in that way to make all of my kids feel special. On this night, the twins were almost to tired too notice their presents. Almost.

Next up, Day 5 at Universal--our most magical day yet!! Stay tuned!

Day 5--our most magical day of the whole trip!

It sounds like everyone had a great time ! Your pictures are great ! By all means ,show us all 2000 of them ! It brings back wonderful memories of my daughters trip. But I share your sentiments on the lack of ,should I say ,acknowledgment of our little wish trippers at Disney.I only ran into 1 rude CM .She was taking us thru the exit to get on a ride & as I was pushing Sydney in her wheelchair up a steady incline ,she told me to hurry up ! What nerve ! So I walked slower !But the CMs at the character greets & the characters themselves were wonderful! The real magic happened at Universal for us ,also !

I am just loving your report...you crack me up. So what is up with the cranky CM's. You are like the millionth person who I have heard this from. And why wouldnt they let you in the LK show? Yeesh. So you had to wait for the third show? And what is it with low spending dh's Grumpy Gus's I say. Glad Clay got to meet Spongy! We had fun at US when we went but Curious George was a bit rude...he jumped off of a car and went to the nearest tree to do his business I was like this Other than that we did not encounter anything innappropriate. I am glad the kids had a wonderful experience at GKTW! Getting tucked in was just too cute! Can we live there and eat ice cream everyday???

Hey did you eat at DHS???? I mean besides ice cream!

We're loving it

We love reading your trip report. My kids keep asking if you have updated yet. It is getting them excited for our upcoming trip. It surprises me about the CM's at Disney. Do you think that they see alot of wish kids and they stopped treating them with extra pixie dust? I hope not. Can't wait to hear more.

She told you to hurry up??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? That is ridiculous. Did you do a TR? I would love to read it, if so! If not, I want to hear about your magic at Universal!

OMGosh, your Curious George story reminds me of our story about the medieval guy's comment about sopping up Donkey's puddle over by Shrek. But the kids heard people cussing in Disney (not CMs or anything), so you aren't really safe anywhere, I guess. Thank you for your sympathies about LK! I cannot tell you how much we're missing that ice cream! Just while ago, Ty said "Mom, I still can't believe that one day on our trip you said to Clay 'Eat your donut so we can go get ice cream'!". HAHAHAHAHA!!!! We didn't need a meal at DHS. What did we miss? I know the 50s thing is there, and I'd love to do that some time! What do you like there?

I'm sure our experience was out of the ordinary. I do hear about lots of grumpy CMs, in general, but not usually on wish trips! I will say that they are all obviously trained to put us to the front immediately. Some just didn't seem excited about it. Well, I say that--obviously the Lion King CM didn't receive that training!! The characters and most CMs working alongside them were wonderful. It was mainly the CMs at the attractions that we thought were grumpy. They would say "Go up that way", but that was it, and half the time we didn't know what they meant. No escorts like at Universal.

I'm just about finished with Day 5. It's a lengthy one.

Thank you ALL for reading!! I have to finish this before I return to work on Monday! I should be doing laundry, though!
