Torn on Removing second guest, cancelling or going crazy

Well I thought I had a second guest when I booked this trip. I jumped the gun because I didn't want to lose out on free dining.
So here I sit with a ten day trip (Nov.11-21), staying at the AKL with a couple dining reservations and no second person. The deadline is coming quickly and I can't decide.
Do I
A) Remove the second guest and make this my first Solo trip ever?

B) Cancel the trip entirely and lose out on free dining?

C) Find someone off here or social media to split the cost.

The room is one of the Queen size beds with a bunk bed.
Just really torn on the best choice for this.

Input, thoughts, laughter. Anything is welcome.

Don't worry about losing free dining. It's just a discount, not a freebie. If you don't mind going solo, go solo. I'd be nervous about shacking up with a stranger for 10 days.

Definitely choice A! Walk on the wild side. (Couldn't help it, you're staying at AKL!) If I could get 10 days off work I would be that person who invites themself.

No contest-A. Canceling is no fun...and sharing with a stranger...could be good...could lead to a movie of the week. Best not risk that... You do not get to pick who plays you in the movie. Solo trips are fun-go, enjoy!

I agree with DavedMaine and the other posters. Also you may be able to find people from the DIS to meet up with you for some of the meals. I'll just miss you, as I'm there Oct. 22-Nov. 2, but you can probably find others who will be there at that time.

Valid point about 10 days is a long time. Lol

I'm not opposed to Solo, it just seems a bit intimidating as it would be my first ever Solo trip.

I see so many of y'all doing it, it obviously isn't that bad. I just need to break outside that shell I guess?

Thank you for all the input

Hey it's Disney! With all the characters there you'll never be alone.

I say go by yourself and have some fun. You never know who you might meet.

Go for it!

I dream of my first solo Disney trip! I would say as long as you are comfortable with the costs go for it. 10 days is a lot but fortunately there is also a lot to do!

But if you go he stranger route...I volunteer as tribute.

And with one person having basically all the credits of two on the dining plan, think of all the places you would be able to eat.

I would be hesitant to have a stranger with me in my room, so if I were you, I'd keep the room for myself and try to meet some people from the DIS during the day and for meals on the dining plan.

Have fun

I found myself in EXACTLY the same boat this year! My second person backed out on me. I went with Option A.

A part of me is a little nervous to be going solo, but a much bigger part is just SUPER EXCITED! To get to do what I want, when I want... without worrying if my companion is having a good time... I'm actually REALLY looking forward to this trip!

GO! Have a great time! Drink it all in, take your time, wake up when you want, call it a night when you want, take breaks when you want (or none at all!), and just enjoy!

Assuming you don't have any other close acquaintances to take the spot of person 2, I would definitely suggest option A. I have never taken a solo trip so I completely understand the uncertainty of going by yourself. I am the type that can't even go to a movie by myself but so many other people on this board go solo and love it and in your shoes I would take the plunge. Perhaps you can find a few other solo travelers to meet up for a dinner or a few hours of park time if you are worried about being lonely. I hope you end up going. I would hate for you to miss a Disney trip because someone dropped out of your plans.

Having the same dilemma. I'm 28 days out from a 8 night at CBR. Now the hubby cannot go. Have ADRs, FP#, MNSSHP for 2. Called Disney today for my options. Cancel? go alone? reschedule for another time? After talking to them i decide to go anyway, alone. She took him off my reservation and i am now getting $400 back. She asked me if i still wanted to keep the "celebration" (37th anniversary) hahaha kind of hard to celebrate that alone!
Its kind of intimidating to go it alone but hell, i need a vacation and what better place to have one. So if you see me alone, at MNSSHP, wearing a pumpkin shirt, wave and say hello!

Which MNSSHP? I'll be there solo on 9/21! Also in a bright orange shirt!
