Trying to choose: Swan or WL?
We're staying at BCV from 7/1-7/5 (we'll be there for the grand opening!). We have Government Rate ressies at the Swan for 6/29 and 6/30, to cover the weekend. Today, I was able to book the WL - Woods View for a difference of about $15.00 total. Now I can't decide what I want to do. Soooo... any opinions? Would you:
a. Stay at the Swan - easier to transfer over to the BCV b. Stay at WL - closer to MK, bunkbeds in the room c. Switch from Swan to Dolphin (I don't know why - a lot of people seem to choose the Dolphin though).

WL!!!!!!!! We have stayed there once and have 2 more vacations booked there. We have toured both the S&D and a LOT of people will disagree but it will never be our cup of tea. Are you new DVC members? We have belonged for 3 years and it is the best thing we ever did. You are going to love it. The DVC rooms do not compare to other WDW resort rooms. It really does feel like home.
If your only concern is the transfer, not to worry. If you don't have a car, just call bell services when you are ready to leave your room. You ask them to transfer your luggage to WL. You catch a bus to where you want to go, and later catch a bus to WL or the boat from MK. You can even go there first and pre register .If a room is not ready, call from any WDW phone to the resort to check on the room, and when you finally do get checked in and arrive in your room, you call bell services to bring your bags to you. |

We are new to DVC. We can't wait for our first trip home. We're staying in a 1 BR this trip, and a 2 BR in November (bringing bil and his family). We decided to do the extra days BEFORE BCV instead of after, because people have told us that we'll really appreciate DVC this way.

Now that I know you are a DVC member, I'm going to reinforce my suggestion. The WL and the VWL share the same common areas. This will give you a feel for what to expect when you stay there on points in the future. You can expect to have the same experience in the lodge as the villas except for the DVC amenities. We will be splitting a stay at the end of this month with 5 nights in the villas and 5 nights in the lodge. This will be our 1st stay in the lodge and we are really looking forward to it and think it will be great fun to step out of our room and already be in the "lodge" section. Happy planning
