Labor Day Week

I'm looking to book a trip before our Annual Pass expires which is September 14. Southwest has a sale right now in September if you fly on Tuesday or Wednesday it is $64 each way which I have points to cover. My problem is deciding on a date. What do you think about the Wednesday after Labor Day, Sept. 4. How busy will it be? If I wait until the next week our passes will expire on Sat. which will leave us 2 days without passes and I can't be at WDW without going to the parks. What would you do?

After Labor Day should be a great time to visit. Southern kids go back to school in August and kids in the Northeast are back in school now. Should be slow to moderate at best. Have a blast.

As the pp stated, the week after LD is a really slow time. -We go during this time every year. While it will be very hot and rainy, the crowd level should be pretty good.

I'm just afraid that people will take an extended weekend trip. I guess most people would leave Tuesday?

This, very much this. Even LDW isn't bad.

This is when we always go. Tuesday through Friday, the crowds are very low, hardly any wait times. Last time we went, we rode the teacups 4 times in a row without getting off because there was no line! We love this time of year!

We'll be there that week. Last year was our first time during that week (arrived on Friday of LDW and was there for 10 days) and it was AH-MAZING! We did TSM 9 times in one day! 9!

Some might but most won't. Even Labor Day is a lot less crowded than other 3 day weekends. I've been going in Sept for decades, it used to be considered a Florida resident month. We'd always get room discounts (that's going back 26 years). Keep your eye out for AP room discounts. There is a rumor of possibly free dining with a room package but you'd have to buy 2 day tickets. I know you have APs but if the savings are enough it might be worth it and save the tickets to upgrade in the future. I just cleaned out a storage unit I had and found a room key that had a 1 day ticket on it. We never used it because we misplaced it (we had APs at the time that wouldn't expire for 6 months).

Sept is a great time to go but you should expect mid 80-90 temps and rain in the afternoon. It won't last all day but if there is lightning seek shelter.

We went the 9 days surrounding Labor Day in 2010 and even though the weather was HOT and HUMID, the park crowds were very light! Enjoy!

I went Labor Day week in 2009 and it was great longest wait was 20 minutes for TSM. Walked on everything else. My friend who lives in FL and has an AP even made the comment that it was the first time she had ever just walked up and not waited for lunch around noon at MK. I am going the same time this year. I arrive on Labor Day but don't do the parks that day. DTD then dinner. Going off site to Capone's for dinner.

I went this time of year a few years back, and going again this year...we arrive on Labor Day. It's WONDERFUL!!

Just a warning, it is hot, but I'm very cold natured and would prefer it really hot as to anything else. Plus, hot when it's not crowded is not bad at all.

Have fun!!

We went the week of Labor Day twice, taking our oldest out of school when he was in K and 1st grade. It was a terrific time to go with very light crowds. I think, overall, Sept is my favorite time to visit. Have fun!
