I have the SMARTEST GRANDPARENTS IN THE WORLD! 60th Anniversary Celebration!

Well, the day has almost arrived! Nine more days to go! So I thought it was time for a little pre-trip report...it's my first one, so bear with me, I'll try to live up to the Dis standards of awesome trip reports!

So, you probably want to know when we are going ...we will be staying at CBR from May 29th - June 4th, though one couple from the group will be staying at POP.

Oh, I guess I should mention the whole purpose for this trip! We have a Grand Gatherings set up to celebrate my grandparents' 60th Anniversary! Can you believe it? 60 years?! That's quite an amazing thing, and we thought it deserved to be celebrated. My grandparents have 6 children, so for Christmas this past year, they each chipped in some money and told my grandparents that they were going on a trip, and they could go anywhere they wanted and everyone would go along with them...and those smart folks, they only had to think a second before they shouted, DISNEY! On a more somber note, this will probably be the last trip they will take (they aren't quite as young as they use to be) , much less with their family, so they wanted to make it special. Anyway, naturally, no one was against their choice! But we were kind of surprised!

After much toil and begging...and even some arguing...we finally figured out who was all going on the trip...even though it should be everyone in the family because that was the whole point of the trip...it is only a select few (don't worry, I'm not still a little bitter ) There are 14 grandchildren and as I stated before 6 children of my grandparents. But only 4 of the children (including their spouses) and 2 of the grandchildren are going (me and my sister). So lets meet the cast:

My Grandma: Doris (elderly ) - A homemaker (that makes delicious food...no one beats grandma's cookin' )

My Grandpa: Tony (also elderly, slightly more than Doris) - A farmer

My Dad: Frank (54) - Pharmaceutical sales rep and known for his sense of humor

My Mom: Ann (53) - Number 4 of 6; Crafter and Sales Associate; keeps the house running! Also makes/decorates amazing cakes!

My Sister: Mandy (23) - Attending med school (wants to be a podiatrist); very loud talker

Me!: Stephanie (19) - Currently majoring in biology (its suppose to be for med school, but I actually have no idea what I want to do yet! ); lover of food!

My Uncle Tony (59) - Eldest child of the 6; works at a bank just a really nice guy

My Aunt Trish (57) - Wife of Tony; retired medical lab technitian soft spoken and sweet

My Aunt Nancy (49) - Number 5 of 6; works for an insurance company; Absolutely hilarious person/very outgoing

My Uncle Lou (56) - Husband of Nancy; Owner of a lawn care service Italian

My Aunt Marybeth (43) - Baby of the family (number 6 of 6); legal secretary probably spoiled as a child (yes, we youngest really are)



Phew, that's everyone...now where was I? Ah yes, the food!

Dinner - O'hanas: looking forward to this! I've heard such great reviews. Even though they have changed the menu, I still have high hopes!

5/30 Friday
Breakfast - Resort (CBR)
Lunch - Le Cellier: I'm probably most excited about this one! I can't wait to try the cheese soup and dip the yummy pretzel bread in it! Bring on the comfort food!
Dinner - Probably just a snack (our ADR's for Le Cellier are latter in the day); I will most likely make a stop at the Kringala bakery to try some school bread

5/31 Saturday
Breakfast - Resort
Lunch - snack (once again, an earlier ADR for dinner)
Dinner - 50's Prime Time Cafe: I'm ready to clear my plate!

6/1 Sunday
Breakfast - Resort
Lunch - Snack
Dinner - 1900 Park Fare

6/2 Monday
Breakfast - Resort
Lunch - Cosmic Rays or Columbia Harbour House
Dinner - The Plaza Restaurant

6/3 Tuesday
Breakfast - Resort
Lunch - Sci-Fi Dine In Theater
Dinner - Cosmic Rays or Columbia Harbour House (whichever we didn't eat at the first time)

6/3 Wednesday
Sadly, we are leaving this day and won't be going to a park but we are going to hit up DTD and eat a little something there...but the best part is we are heading over to Beaches n' Cream and indulging in a KITCHEN SINK! I can't wait!

In case you couldn't conclude from the food list, here is our to-do list of parks:

5/30 - EPCOT
5/31 - DHS/MGM(I still call it that)
6/1 - Animal Kingdom; MK EMH
6/2 - MK
6/3 - DHS and MK

Stay tuned for my reviews! Hopefully I will be able to do a live report, but I'm not sure I'll be allowed to take my laptop

thats so sweet!!! you will defiantly never forget the time you spend with your grandparents when your down there!! make sure you take tons of pictures!!! for next years christmas you should make a scrapbook of the trip for them, they will love it!! well keep me posted, i will be reading!!

yeah im excited but its still oh so very far away!! oh well gives me some more time to save up some money!!! so do you have everything packed and around?

haha, boy don't i wish! it would really make it feel closer, even though it's only a week...to be honest, we usually dont start packing until the night before! i know, it's crazy! that's why we're all stressed when we get in the car, but it's nice to arrive at disney and everything just goes away...ahh...don't you love the magic of disney?

Yeah the gates of disney are just so refreshing, I cant just pack the night before, i couldnt imagine getting down there and like forgetting my make up or something, people would look at me like haha

haha, same here! im going to keep my fingers crossed and hope that i don't forget anything...do you know if disney has any sort of policy like that...where if you forget something (like a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, etc.) they provide you with a complimentary one?

im pretty sure they do.... but make a list of the stuff you need to take, then pack that way... that way you know for sure you have everything!!!

ok, so only two days left before we leave, and it looks like we have a possibility of not going!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately, my grandpa hasn't been feeling well lately...so he went to the doctor and it turns out, he did have a slight problem with his heart so he has a stress test scheduled for tomorrow, and if he doesn't pass it, his doctor said he isn't allow to go on the trip! Well this is a huge problem, as we are going in celebration of his and my grandma's 60th anniversary! If you all could wish him luck and say some prayers for him, it would be much appreciated...
