Would love to see what people thought of it also!?!

I saw some real pics on the old Cake Thread II. Looks nice, and sounds great at $15 plus tax and tip!

Here is the link to a couple pics of the cakes on the old thread. Both Princess and Pirate are shown.

Also, here are another couple pics of the actual cakes. Scroll down to Post #2122 for pic of cake out of box.

Here is the cake we had delivered to WCC for my ds. He turned 5 and wanted an all orange colored cake. Everything down to the Mickey head sprinkles was orange. It tasted great and was not dry.

Price: $45 + tax and gratuity
Date Received:Feb 2009
Location: WCC
Cake info: 10" yellow cake with vanilla frosting tinted orange

1st birthday cake

I was not going to celebrate DS's first birthday in disney since we are there 2 weeks early, but realized, thats silly-just do it.(I wanted to be thereon his 1st, but couldnt)
So if I call back, do I just order the cake from ADR? What will they do if anything? Do I need to call now for May? What are cake choices?
I am ok with cake and candles and I have a 1st birthday crown for him. But thought it would be great to have the pics and memories of his first cake there. I have Crystal palace booked for dinner and chef mickeys for breakfast(so not thinking cake at 10am) so would do it at CP.

Oh these cakes are all amazing. I shared the cake that I got for my husband on the DIS, from our 2007 trip. We never did get to taste it because we were just so stuffed that we never got around to it. We tried to save it by wrapping it and placing it in the cooler on our way home but it didn't work..it became a huge mess. We did keep the Mickey and Minnie toppers and they were yummy. ...And the memories...oh my!!

I'm going to hopefully be ordering a custom "10 cake for our lunch at Crystal Palace in a few days and I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions. It's my 3 nephews first trip and I wanted something with an edible image that said Welcome to Disney. But I'm not sure which character or colors, etc. If anyone can give me some recommendations that would be great and if someone posted some pics of welcome cakes even better.
Now, onto some questions. How much are the edible images? And since there's 7 of us I'm pretty sure they'll be left over cake, can the restaurant hold the cake left for us until we leave later that night?

my post was moved here...

Ok, and after reading all 10 pages, I am still confused.
Do I order a cake from the place we are eating? (crystal palace)
Do I order it ahead of time(I read 2 weeks, a few days, at podium...)
I am reading the quality of the cake not so good unless its from a bakery, like in GF? DO I have to order now, then go to GF myself to pick up a cake that day? Do they deliver to park restaurants?
Are there other options?
I would like a small cake for ds 1st birthday. I would love a baby mickey or something like that but mainly, I want a great tasting cake(for the costs I am reading here especially).
ETA- I found another cake thread and see a mickey Dome cake- has anyone had it? Size(feeds how many ppl?) and was it good and how can I get it?

If you are eating at Crystal Palace and want a cake for that meal, you'd call the cake hotline and order one or you could wait till you arrive and get the Sarah Lee ones that are available at the podium.

You cannot order a cake at GF and pick it up and they do not deliver. If you want a cake from the GF, you have to eat there.

Most Deluxe resorts have their own bakery for their guests. You can't go there and pick one up.

The only bakery you can pick up a cake from is the Boardwalk Bakery or the Magic Kingdom Main Street Bakery.

We're planning to celebrate my daughter's 10th b-day at Disney in Oct. She loves Mickey. I don't like the Mickey head cakes though. We're going to eat at CRT for her b-day meal (hopefully!) and I want to have a cake there. Any ideas for what kind of Mickey cake to do at CRT? Thanks!
