Save VMK Walk this Wednesday 4/30 3pm PST!!

Wednesday 3pm PST (4/28) will be the first Save VMK Walk...look for the guest room, wear black, make sure you have a Save VMK signature and walk through VMK with the Save VMK chant!

Small groups will be formed in the guest room (staging room) to go out throughout VMK spreading the Save VMK message to write, sign, tell others, to keep fighting and to not give up hope. Bring your friends with you!

If you need a black t-shirt, they will be given out at the event.

As I mentioned in another thread, I will be looking to others to be leaders as I will stay back in the guest room and organize/direct traffic. If you would like to help out in this capacity, please be ready to jump up on one of the colored crates in the walk's staging room.

It would be really nice if we had lots of people and had to open up another staging room!

I look forward to walking, sitting-in and otherwise causing some noise with you all over the next few weeks!!!

To help logistics, it might be good to make sure that everyone in the room is either friends with the group leader, or friends with someone who is. That way everyone can follow the leader into the correct instance on the room, rather than ending up spread all across the place! That means the leader will need to do a quick headcount in every new room, to make sure nobody gets left behind.

Also, if all the groups arrange to meet in the same instance of the walk's concluding room, you should hopefully be able to fill it to max. Everyone will be hyped up from the walk, so will be fired up for a bit of stationary protesting. If one or two instances of a given room suddenly max out, the staff will hopefully get curious and come to see what's happening. OK, it's not within their power to save the game, but they might pass on the message that we're still fighting for it.

I'd love to help out, but may not be able to stay up that late, as I'm in the UK (we're 8 hours ahead of VMK time). Would it be possible to get a room opened up earlier on the same, or a different, day and march across the timezones (that sounds good and revolutionary )? If you won't be able to make it on that early, I'm sure I or someone else can provide another assembling room.

Yes, I have been mulling over that and was not sure how it would work if people didn't join on as friends. Right now I have four colored crates set up...black, green, orange and a white ice cube So here is my plan...hopefully it will go okay...

Staging Room Steps...
1. people congregate around a particular crate
2. designate a leader for that color and have ppl add leader as friend
3. have everyone write down leader name and guest room name
4. everyone will get in black and change signature to make sure Save VMK is in it (and maybe stuff like...follow us, we are on a walk/march!)
5. once there are 5-6 people by a crate they will depart
6. I will tell the walkers if they get "lost" (i.e. room is full, etc.) to come back to the room and join another group.

(I will repeat facilitating the above process...some groups will be partially formed as people might be bringing in friends, etc.)

Save VMK Walk Steps...
1. Leader will take his/her group to the Esplande, it seems like ppl have been going there to pay their respects to the VMK 2005-2008 sign...some people go there to cry. It's symbolic to start there since that is where we all started when we signed up. Hopefully we can pick up a few more people for the Warch here.

2. Proceed to other Main Street areas...Town Square, Emporium, Main Street, Sci-Fi Dine-In, Central Plaza and Castle Forecourt. The leader should be in Advanced Mode so he/she can pinpoint rooms with a fair # of people. I'm thinking about 3-5 minutes in each area...we want to be heard but if ppl are trying to carry on conversations, we don't want to be rude or impose...the goal is to get them to join in, wear black and change their signature...I think if we say an outside website (i.e. savevmk .con) we can get banned so we should steer away from that.

Note: we might organize for other lands too so we don't bump into each other.

3. Return to room, chat, go out on another walk, or have a sit-in somewhere...also the next walk can be announced.

This will be the first of the walks I hope to organize...feel free to duplicate...the more the staging rooms look the same and are run the same, the better turnout we will have as people will know what to expect and will know the routine...if anyone does make a room, make sure it's "The Save VMK Walk" is at the beginning of the room description so it can be easily searched upon.

For tomorrow though, please let's see how things go and if things are really busy someone can put together another room on the fly, pretty much all you will need is an empty Stage Room with four crates and a coconut chair...we are bare-bones, grass-roots...watch out!

I will be there too and just to let u know it is ok to say the save vmk websites in vmk right now, i have been walking around saying the web addresses since the announcement to get ppl to sign and it is in my signature on there. i have had nothing but positive feedback on there from many hosts on there, that tell me to keep getting ppl to sign. so no bans here
