Wasting away again in Loserville-(all welcome to grab an adult beverage and come in)

Wasting Away Again in Loserville....searching for our lost shaker of salt, and lost remote, and lost poo stick, and lost toddler, and lost sanity, and lost waistline.....

Are you a loser? If you are, feel free to join us in this lovely (if cluttered) thread. A clean house is NOT required. Perfect kids? Walk away. In fact, we have some rules that we've come up with over the last few months...they're below. This thread moves FAST! Don't even try to keep up some days...nodding and smiling is a perfectly acceptable way to be a loser...this is a NO PRESSURE ZONE!

The Rules

Rule #1.....oh crap, who was supposed to do the rule number one? We got no rule number one here...we must be a bunch of slacker losers.

Rule #2......there will be no judging of the slacker who was supposed to do rule #1! Judge Judy was on for God's sake! There are priorities here!

Rule #3....no getting excited about cleaning unless A. someone else is doing it B. you have PMS and it's clean, kill your husband, or eat ten pounds of chocolate C. you have found a self cleaning house and someone gave it to you for free.

Rule #4....NO CRAFTING! One of your kids has a project? pay the older sibling to work on it with your kid.

Rule #5...If you put dirty clothes in a pillow case, it's decorative

Rule #6....You MUST be able to laugh at toddlers doodling with doodie or chasing their siblings with poo sticks!

Rule #7...you must have A. sent your kids to school in dirty socks B. bribed your children to run your errands or C. been called the meanest mom EVER within the last year to join. Animals peeing in corners may be substituted for any of these things.

Rule #8....snakes in the house or pee in the tubs are to be reported instantly so that you may be teased mercilessly.

Rule #9....you are expected to defend drive-thru's to the DEATH!

Rule #10....you should not respect or follow rules very well...so, um, ignore everything you read.

One of the things we talk about is "cleancom"....here's the explanation (so you're not lost).

Here is the cleancom-o-meter....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"What level of clean do you maintain your house at?"

Cleancom 1---Mother In Law (before you were married) Clean
Cleancom 2---Houseguest Clean
Cleancom 3---Company Clean
Cleancom 4---Routine nothing on the floor Clean
Cleancom 5---Cluttered but Clean
Cleancom 6---Not Clean
Cleancom 7---Heading Down the Toilet
Cleancom 8---No one sets foot in the house other than immediate family
Cleancom 9---Crazy Cat Lady Dirty
Cleancom 10---Condemned

I blew out my flip-flop, stepped on a pop-top.

Does that qualify me as a loser?

Depends...did you curse, try to fix the shoe with some gum, give up and go bare foot? You betcha!

Did you carefully repair the shoe with see thru thread so that no one could tell the flip flop had been damaged and then use the pop top to create a lovely wall piece? Probably not.

But we know you well enough to know you're a true loser and would only to the first.

Ahhh I am home again. Feels good,

Ok I need eveyone to send good thoughts and prayers this morning. Mr Anxiety (aka DS5) is going to see his K room for next year. They are doing a 45 minute orientation with the kid by themselves. (all mommies stay upstairs). He has gotten much better about accepting the fact that K is next year, I think the preschool teachers have been pumping it up. But DS5 is never known for jumping into new and embracing it right away so just pray that he goes with the group today and cooperates.

Thanks.

Welcome to our new home everyone!! It's nice to have a fresh, clean start, isn't it?

Now if I could only get a fresh clean start with my house, I'd be doing alright. Then again, give my kids an hour, and it would be trashed anyway, so why bother?

Good luck with that, Mkrop. I know I'll be going through that same anxiety later this year. DS3 starts pre-K in August. He's not a "team player" because he's spoiled and he's "the boss" (according to him).

I plan on blocking out a portion of every day, to wait for the teacher/principal/guidence counselor to call me and tell me what a little monster he is.

Wow this place is about as clean as my house is at the moment. Wonder how long it will take to destroy both of them?

FE is about 2 hrs away. So I will be around for a tiny bit this morning.

Well, that takes all the fun out of it! So technically we are at Cleancom 1 right now? Wow--that's what that looks like. My house is currently at 4, but could get to a 3 without too much trouble

It's raining and cold here again today. Don't know how much I'll be around--depends on when DH comes home to go van hunting. God help me not to kill him today!

Sending prayers and pixiedust to little mr. anxiety (bet they have a teeshirt...)

Ooo, I love a new place, new paint job, no hand smears on the walls and a non-slobbered kitchen floor...won't be long now

Soon as the livin' life fairy finds us, its all over and back to com 4 for us.

Checked the hair thread, she's gone and the girl who was the center of the ruckus checked in, really nice girl. we even got to see a picture of her smiling, her mom posted, she sounds nice too.

When my dd Shannon (would be 22 now, she was killed in a bicycle accident 11 years ago, she was 12 and was 12 when this happend) came home from her father's house with RED streaks in her hair, I flipped, the were BRIGHT red and I was caught unawares (dxh was dating a hairdresser) so I made her go to a friend of mine and bleach them out a little so they weren't quite as bright. Once I got over the initial shock, it wasn't so bad, if either of them had mentioned it to me I probably...oh I would have said no then but it WAS a kinda new thing then, and when I picked her up at the Library one of the old bats gave her a look and then me a look, I almost popped her one. After that, I didn't have a problem with it, go figure. All it takes is one snarky look from a librarian and I am Miss Cool Mom...
