Help from florida residents

I was wondering if anyone in florida is familiar with Indian Lake Estates located in Polk County? Someone has offered to sell some property there. Any info would help. TIA.

Bad news. I live in Polk County and have just looked at a map. It is very isolated.

It is on State Road 60 about 22 miles East of Lake Wales and 27 miles West of Yeehaw Junction. MapQuest says it is about 63 miles and about 1 hour and 20 minutes from the Contemporary Resort.

From where I live when I am going to South Florida I will go down US 27 to Lake Wales and then East on 60 to pick up the Turnpike at Yeehaw Junction. Basically there is nothing on SR 60.

It's funny that you posted this...I just read an article (I think in the local newspaper?) about Indian Lake Estates. It seems that a large company is planning on creating an area there similar to Tradition (in Port St.Lucie) or Celebration near Disney. Granted, it is IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE now...I take 60 across to visit my friend in Lakeland (also Polk county) and there is nothing there. However, with the growth in Florida, I can't say it would be an unwise investment. People from south Florida are moving north because of overcrowding, and it may be a desirable place...in a while!

What they have been discussing is at or near Yeehaw Junction, which is in Osceola County. ILE is in Polk County.
