Louisiana DVCers

We just got home yesterday from being at Disney for nine days! Seems like most of Louisiana. Was there! We had a great time...but it was very very very crowded!!! Friends of mine had to change resorts because of the Argentina girls that were there...pushing, shoving, knocking over their food trays at the food court...taking their cloths off to swim!!! They were leaving and Disney didn't want them to so they moved them from Pop Century to Caribbean Beach and gave them comp tickets for their next trip! There were a lot of big groups like that this time, you usually see some but there were a lot of them...
Who else from these boards was there and what did you think about the crowds?

We were there Mardi Gras week and you are right, there were many Argentina groups there. I think the Louisiana people had them beat, lots of people sporting their LSU, Saints, and Mardi Gras shirts.

We are from the westbank of New Orleans, but we now live on the Northshore, Pearl River (about 20 years now)
We go to Disney about 3 times a year since we are owners at BLT & BWV.

Just discovered this thread! We have owned our DVC for 2 years now and LOVE it! We live in Terrytown(Gretna), LA and our home resort is BWV. We're leaving tomorrow morning for a long weekend at BLT.

We spent the week of Mardi Gras at WDW. We are DVC and our home resort is SSR. We noticed some tour groups.

Our countdown for the next trip has started...I haven't booked it yet..lol

1. May 25 - June 2, 2013
2. June 22 - 29, 2013

We can't decide... We are planning on spending some time at the water parks

We will be at OKW May 24 & 25. Then taking a 4 night cruise. Returning to OKW through June 2. I'm sure our teens will go to the water parks too. Me and DH? Doubtful. We are more of the lounge around in the pools and hot tubs type!

Not from Louisiana, but DDiL is from Houma.

We want to travel from WDW to Houma by car from Orlando. Our newest Grand baby will be baptized in Houma in January. We have plenty of time to travel. Are there any worthwhile things to see en route?

For sure, we are spending a few days in NO!

Thank you.

USS Alabama in Mobile. You can see it from I10 as you drive by over Mobile Bay or you can stop and tour. Bellingrath Gardens in Mobile, but I haven't seen them in years. Pensacola has the National Naval Aviation Museum. Biloxi has casinos.

Ditto on the USS Alabama. It's very interesting and worth a stop in my opinion. The only problem is we are so ready to get there on the way and so ready to get home on the way back that we never stop.

Us too!

You can stop at the FL welcome center for a free glass of orange or grapefruit juice and a potty break.

On the way home we generally stop in Pensacola (about 15 minutes south of I-10) to eat at McGuires Pub. Depending on your timing you could stop on the way there. Here is the URL: http://www.mcguiresirishpub.com/

Generally we make more stops on the way home as we are too excited to get to Disney to stop on the way.

Just booked a Halloween trip that the kids don't know about! Our first time surprising them, if hubby and I can keep our mouths shut!

Throwed Rolls!!!!

We LOVE that place too but the line is generally too long and it is too much of a detour time wise when we are trying to get home because we generally have school the next day. Their fried okra and chicken and dumplings are delish!
