How do you tell the difference between girl jeans and boy jeans? - The DIS Discussion Forums

I am not an idiot, I really am not! Lately though, I am having a had time figuring out which size 8 jeans I can hand down to my DS. Did they belong to DS11, or DD9??? The jeans with the pink in them are a given, but I have a few Old Navy jeans where I just can't tell if they are for a boy or girl. I would HATE to send DS off to school with girl jeans on. Usually I can tell by the hip. Girl jeans are wider in the hip area, but for some reason, I don't see a difference.

Help?????

I'm sorry to say, I can't help you since I buy the same jeans for both my daughter and son. They're both really skinny and the girl jeans are cut too short through the front area to be a comfortable fit for my daughter.

Do jeans follow a rule like buttons on a shirt? Is the zipper on opposite sides for girl jeans vs boy jeans?

If they fit him well and you can't tell what's the difference? Obviously those with pink in them wouldn't work, but with the rest I"d just go with what fits him.

I have a son and a daughter. It's hard to tell.

I wind up looking at the back pockets. In my daughters jeans, the back pockets are more curved at the bottom than my son's. The bottom of the leg is wider in my daughters.

ON jeans (at least my sons) says boys on the tag in the back. That helps.
You can sometimes look at button/snap. Sometimes the girls have a prettier snap.

I can usually tell if my ex has put the laundry away at his house because my son comes home in his older sisters' old jeans. They just seem to fit differently. Some of them you can't tell the difference at all, but sometimes is obvious...like flare leg. You can definitely see they are not boy jeans.
