does anyone know if there is a toll free number for Disney? I use to have one, but it doesn't work anymore. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Please keep in mind...
... Disney's toll-free numbers are not, and never were, intended for use by the general public.
... If these numbers were intended for use by everyone, Disney would make any such numbers readily available online and in all their advertising. They don't.
... They have already shut off one toll-free line and could continue to do so (making things more difficult for the Travel Professionals for whom such phone numbers ARE intended).
... Always check existing phone service. You just might already have unlimited long-distance (or be able to add it for a nominal cost, and remove it once all your Disney booking is done)

If Disney does not want you using a particular number, you will be screened out. If a number works, fine. I myself use unlimited LD on cell.

The number I used only a month ago was: 1 - 877 - 939 - 3732

Why don't you try that one first?

Cell phone reservations are fine .....
BUT ....... Beware .......... you should NEVER recite a charge card number on a cell phone. Cell phone calls are not secure as one might think.

Number no longer works

I just tried using the number above and it no longer is in service. Does anyone have a toll-free number for Room Reservations? I don't have LD at home and I'm not sure about transmitting my CC info over my cell phone.

You would probably do best, then, by purchasing a calling card at home and using that to make long distance calls; or contact a travel agent for assistance. It does not appear that Disney intends to provide toll-free numbers to the general public any time soon.

Try purchasing an inexpensive calling card, perhaps at the dollar store. You can feel more secure giving your cc number then. I don't have long distance at home either plus with online booking you cannot get AAA discount. Good luck.

thanks for the suggestions. I'll check into the calling card. I went ahead and booked online today, but I'll have to call and make ADR's before the week's out.

Thanks again

While I'm not going to debate if this is true or not, just remember I'm sure that there are much, much less secure places that you use your charge card. I would say you have a much better chance of your CC being taken from a merchant then by someone monitoring cell phones, at the moment you are talking. There are lots of smaller merchants that I'm sure dont 100% properly protect charge card slips the way they are supposed to, and there are reports that will print out the entire number also. Just FYI.. So while I agree that you need tobe careful, just remember there are much less secure places that your number if floating around I would guess..

... While sure it's *possible* we need not live in a world of fear and conspiracy... chances are pretty small anybody will be listening into your call.

Today's digital cell and cordless phone technologies are a lot more secure than yesterday's analog devices. Analog cell and cordless phone conversations can be picked up on very inexpensive radio frequency scanners. Digital cell and cordless phones use a mild form of encryption and are quite secure. The equipment and knowledge required to eavesdrop on these devices preclude doing so except by the most dedicated and knowledgeable individuals.
