Luggage/carry-on restrictions?

How many bags can each person check?

What is the size/weight restriction for carry-on bags - how about checked bags?

Will my camera bag count as a carry-on? What about my wife's purse - is that a carry-on too?

TIA

What airline are you flying? I suggest checking their website.

Oops, sorry, my orignal post wasn't clear. The questions I posed are related to Disney's luggage limitations for their cruise lines.

We're driving to the Port, so airline restrictions won't affect us.

I do not know about actual restrictions regarding carry on luggage, but keep in mind that anything that you carry on you have to carry with you until your stateroom is ready. we carried way too much on with a backpack, small roller suitcase and purse. I will not do that again.

We were planning on carrying on all of our luggage so we don't have to check anything. My DH is worried about having our luggage lost and since we are on a 3 night, us not ever getting it.

Is it really a pain to have carry on luggage while waiting to board cruise? How long do you have to wait for your stateroom?

You won't be allowed in to your stateroom until 1:30pm. If you can deal with having your luggage with you until then you should be fine. Keep in mind that the elevators are not very big so getting a lot of people and bags in them could be difficult.

DCL recommends two bags per person, not including carry-ons. Though, I hear they don't enforce it. When you get to port, there will be porters to take your luggage and then you can carry on your essentials to the terminal.

Don't know if they'll let you carry on everything. If so, I would wait to board the ship closer to 1:30 so you can go directly to your stateroom and unload your luggage.

I have been on nine DCL cruises, and have never had any trouble with luggage on either embarkation or disembarkation, so I wouldn't let that enter the equation.

The ships typically open up to guests between 11:30 and 12:00 noon, so you will have to carry around anything you bring on board for a couple of hours minimum if you board early before your stateroom is ready. This can be quite the hassle, particularly if you want to have lunch either at Beach Blanket or one of the restaurants, explore, take a spa tour, wait in line for Palo reservations etc. One small rolling carry-on can be trouble enough!

I think that the porters at the terminal will safeguard your luggage and deliver it without issue. Enjoy your afternoon on the ship, don't be concerned about hauling luggage around.

As long as it can fit thru the X-Ray machine, think airport size machine, you will have no problems.
