Captain Bryan vs. Captain Marvins

Anyone have experience with either of these tour companies? I am booking my own stingray tour and was debating between the two of these. Any thoughts?

Heather

We have gone through Captain Marvin's twice and have had fantastic experiences both times. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Both our experiences have been with Captain Marvin's. All good! Nice people, good service.

We've used captain Marvins and the excursion was wonderful. We had one pretty major problem though. When we were ready to go back to the ship, the engine wouln't start on the boat. We had people from Princess and ROyal Caribbean on our boat as well (we were on Carnival that time). They had more time than we did so they weren't panicked but we sure were. They seemed very lackadasical about the whole thing. We were stupid and didn't bring along credit cards so if we missed the ship we'd be in BIG trouble. They actually had to send another boat out to get us and tow us back in. The tow was very slow and time was a-ticking. Once we got back to shore, we had to board these little 15 seat passenger vans to take us back to the tender dock. We were late.

The only saving grace (ironically) for us is that hurricane michelle had just destroyed one of the tender docks a few days prior and so there was still a long line to take the tender. If both docks had been operational, we would have missed the last tender.

That being said, I would use them again. I figure this was a fluke.

We're using Moby Dick in a few weeks. We've been booked with them two other times but the first time the seas were too rough to tender and this past December we got on the island but the water out by SC was too rough so all the tour operators were cancelling...so we're trying for a third time!!

Moby Dick makes two stops, one at SC and the other at the barrier reef. Their price is only $35 which is very reasonable IMO and although you don't see their name mentioned as often as Nativeway and Capt Marvins I've never read any bad reviews about them.

After the tour they'll drop you off from their bus at either the terminal or Seven Mile Beach.
