Not Carousel of Progress - the final scene has been updated several times (and probably should be again!). Not even Walt was prescient enough to envision the laptop computer & virtual reality games 38 years ago.

I can only think of "It's a Small World" (which is even older than 38 years; it was at the 1964 NY World's Fair).

Or, after thinking a bit, perhaps Swiss Family Treehouse?

Ten Questions with Answers... See How You DO!

1) What popular Frontierland attraction at Walt Disney World Resort is located in Grizzly Hall?

2) What character stands atop the Dumbo, The Flying Elephant attraction at the Disney Theme Parks?

3) The actual organ that Captain Nemo plays in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea can now be found in what Disneyland park attraction?

4) What Fantasyland attraction at the Walt Disney World Resort was originally built in 1917 for Olympic Park in Maplewood, New Jersey?

5) In which hotel at the Walt Disney World Resort is the Grand Canyon Concourse located?

6) What was the first and only Disney theme park attraction where quests could choose from one of three "endings"?

7) Which of the following US Presidents is the only one NOT to have visited a Disney theme park since the opening of Disneyland in 1955? Johnson, Ford, Carter, Clinton?

8) After Disneyland opened in 1955, what was the first new "land"? Liberty Square, Bear Country, or New Orleans Square?

9) Name both of the attractions that are "tied" for the highest point at the Walt Disney World Resort?

10) Where in Epcot can one find a miniature version of the famed Butchart Gardens?

BONUS Question: How many different monorails are in operation at the Walt Disney World Resort? Name them.

Answers:
1. The Country Bear Jamboree
2. Timothy Mouse
3. The Haunted Mansion
4. Cinderella's Golden Carrousel
5. Disney's Contemporary Resort
6. Horizons at Epcot
7. Lyndon Johnson. Although he did make his famous "I am not a crook speech" at Disney's Contemporary Resort, he never visited the park.
8. New Orleans Square
9. Expedition Everest and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (199 feet)
10. Canada Pavilion in the World Showcase
Bonus: 12 (Red, Coral, Orange, Pink, Gold, Yellow, Lime, Green, Blue, Purple, Silver, Black)

For the OP, got this out of the Imagineers Guide to the MK.

The Polynesian Resort is placed precisely where it is because it was originally going to be visible from the Jungle Cruise.

Related, the Contemporary was placed to add to the Tomorrowland atmosphere as it would be visible from there.
