Just had a thought

so as dvc members we get 10% discount at ds, so would this apply to tickets as well. Anyone tried to purchase them.

No you don't get discount on tickets. Even cast members don't get discount on tickets in the stores. It's because it's currently run just as a 'service' for guests, we don't make profits etc on tickets sold in store and they don't count in our sales. Hope that helps.

Yep, 10% if you have your card. Doesn't count on vouchers, tickets or media.

I didn't know that we got a discount either so that's really good news

It's my daughter's 3rd birthday in a couple of weeks and she's Disney princess mad so I'll be making good use of that discount very soon. Thanks for letting me know

Great news. I only thought that we got discount in the US. I work near the Disney Store in Oxford Street, London so this really is good news

Actually we don't get the discount at the US Disney stores any more but we do at all european ones! Think that is because they still own the european ones but sold off the US ones.

I bought some stuff yesterday in the Disney store and handed over my DVC card. No problems whatsoever in getting my 10% discount. Yipee

Yeah, the Disney Store USA was sold off a year or so ago. If you're in New York it's always worth trying to use your discount at the big 5 storey one there because that's still owned by Disney, along with the European stores! And of course the theme park ones are. Hope that helps

Not all Disney Store CMs are aware of the DVC discount - I guess because they don't receive requests to use it too often - but we've always found there's a more experienced CM who can help them out.

Yep, it's not something that's covered in our basic training anymore. It used to be as the old Magic Kingdom Club one. If there are any probs just ask for a member of the management team.
