I got him too. My fiance and I thought his website was great, we were impressed w/ his music collection but we're kind of music snobs.

We had him for our wedding. He is great, one of the best DJs we have seen at a wedding (all of our guests thought so too). He really gets involved and can use props (like signs and hats) if requested.
He is really popular. He does a lot of Disney clubs and special events like DJ'ing for grad nite.

Hey I haven't gotten my dj assigned yet, but does anyone have his website just to see? I heard that you can recommend a dj.
Thanks! |

DJ Miles...........
Quote:
This guy must of been reading from a script...a short one at that....and played the same music over and over. Its not like he was performing for hours and hours.....im talking the same some was played 4 times in less than 60 min!!! He always kept saying the same damn thing over and over. "On the count of 3, where gonna blow those horns" (that was said about 10 times from 11pm til 11:50pm when he had to shut down for the start of the fireworks show (which everyone cheered for, lol)...... Everyone was asked to "Put em up, Put em up, Put em up, Put em up.........." about every other song.......and "get ready for the bounce". Everyone was asked to "make some noise" every song.... "Partying with thousands....this is your party, your kingdom..ect" "Are you ready for the new year"....again, over and over....usually these quotes were mushed together with one another. Again.....a very short list that kept repeating.....along with the same music (NO....not music type.....THE SAME SONGS!!!) a REAL DJ doesnt repeat the music....unless it is requested by ALOT of people. There was no skill required in what he was doing. They could of has Sonny Eclipse from Cosmic Ray's (he is a animatronic performer) set up on stage and it would of been better. At least Sonny has interesting things to Emcee. lol. The one and ONLY thing i will give him credit for is his energy. He seems to have as much as i do.....but the rest of him needs some serious work. This was NEW YEARS EVE.......he needed to bring his A-Game. If that was it....then as a fellow DJ, i am very offended. The fact that i (among other DJ's i know) would of JAMMED that place with actually mixing music (with more than a 10 song playlist), better Emcee skills....and keeping the same energy (if not more)....it makes me sick that this person got the hook up for Disney to perform at one of the biggest days of the year. |

I've requested Charles for my D.J. I went to a Disney wedding and he was the D.J. I was very impressed!
I know he's in big demand and hard to get. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get him. Our photographers posted their 2011 video yesterday to their facebook page and Charles Miles is in the video. I think there are quite a few disbrides in it too. Here's a link to the link. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2853951

We DJ Charles Miles for our wedding back in March. We weren't too specific with our music selection (our Do Not Play list was longer than our Must Play list) and he was great! We all had a great time and even my 86 year old Grandfather had the chance to play DJ for a few minutes

We had Charles at our wedding and LOVED him. Unfortunately, when it is a park event all of that is scripted through Disney entertainment. It isn't a true representation of what he does at a wedding. I have heard him both ways. And he was great at our wedding of playing what we wanted him to play. Because of all of the kids at our wedding, it had to be child appropriate. Give your DJ guidelines and he will work with you and follow through!

This is kind of an old post, but I feel I have to add my two cents since DJ Charles Miles was one of my absolute favorite vendors. I heard him do my friends wedding in 2009, and I thought he was so great, I asked for his card, even though I wasn't engaged, and didn't think I would have a Disney wedding. When I started planning my wedding, he was the first thing I knew I wanted. I LOVED his website - being able to make the lists of do and do not play right there, and go through all his music was easy and fun. I had pretty strict requests of how the music was to run at my wedding at certain points, and he was very accomodating, and did everything perfectly. Once he learned my husband and myself, along with alot of friends at the wedding went to the University of Miami, he played alot of Miami/Hurricane-centric songs which all my friends loved. Everyoned loved him! He really connected with everyone well.
And I have to mention this - My mother was unescorted to the wedding. She had one of the ushers walk her down the aisle at the ceremony, but for walking into the reception, she was by herself. We hadn't thought about this till right before she was supposed to go in! DJ Charles Miles re-arranged alittle bit so my mom walked in with my in-laws. It was quick thinking on his part, and my mom was SO grateful. It worked out really well. My wedding was January 28, 2012. I HIGHLY recommend Charles Miles. He was friendly, easy to work with, and one of the best decisions I made for my wedding. If anybody has any other questions about him, I'd be happy to answer them.

He is FABULOUS!! He can pretty much play anything you request. We had him play a mix of oldies and pop type stuff and it was great. Everyone loved him!!! You will not be disappointed.

Hi Everyone!
It looks like we are getting a great infusion of new guests to our board. Just as a reminder, we love getting honest reviews. If you don't like the style of musice, etc that is fine. However, at the same time we will not tolerate negative attacks against members, vendors, or Disney. Thanks and I hope you enjoy planning your very magical day! Jonette
