Christmas with Grumpy: A Very Merry Trip Report!! LOTS OF PICS AND VIDEO
Christmas in Disney (even though DH was grumpy)!! We had a great time on this trip and I am excited to share it with you all. Thank you to all who have followed me from my pre trip report. It started strong and then kind of fizzled as my life got crazier and crazier. If you are interested in a little of my and DH’s background check out my pre trippie here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1550617
Quick Recap: The stars: Me, Jessica, 25, aka alabamagirl, former college programmer Fall 2002. Been to Disney 8 times now, married to DH, no children, 2 dogs, Emmie and Grady who will make a cameo at the beginning. DH, Bo, 24 aka nothing, makes fun of me for being on the DIS. Loves fishing and works a lot. Married to me, no children (I hope), 2 dogs, who love him to death. Trip Dates: Sunday, December 2, 2007-Friday, December 7, 2007, staying at Pop Century, with dining plan So leading up to leaving on Sunday there were several kinks. The first was that I thought my last class was on the Monday before we left, but oh no. My professor was having class during dead week (the week of our trip). He gave us an option of a take home essay test or in class essay test for the final exam. Is there really a question? I of course opted for the take home exam and he kindly said that he would email me the questions since I would not be in class on Monday when he gave the questions to everyone else. Thank you!! But that meant that I had to write 17 pages when I got back, but no worries. I was going to Disney! The second kink was that someone got fired at DH’s work and he had to pick up several of that guy’s shifts to make up the workload. Which meant that he worked twelve straight days before we went to Disney. He was TIRED and SLEEPY and GRUMPY. Those were the two major things, but DH and I also had to clothes shopping on Saturday before we left, which meant that I had to pack last minute which I hate. Also, since I had to do his packing for him (he was at work), I forgot to pack him any shoes. So he had to wear his brand new crocs all week. He was a bit ticked about that. In my defense he did not have any shoes laid out with his stuff and I had too many other things on my mind to worry about his shoes. Also, when I planned the trip DH was on a different crew so his last shift should have been Saturday night, then he could have gotten a good night’s sleep before flying to Orlando Sunday morning. But somewhere around September he switched crews and would not be working Saturday night all the way up until 6:00 am Sunday morning. Our flight left at 9:35 am. This of course meant no sleep for him which equals grump DH (do you see why the name of my trip report fits now)? In light of all this information, on to Day 1!!

Day 1 - Sunday, Dec. 2
Day 1
I woke up at 5:30 am inspired, I was going to Disney!! Bo arrived home from work around 6:30 am. He showered and we packed a few last minute things, said goodbye to the dogs, and we were off to the Birmingham airport! Here is Emmie giving us the guilt trip as we left. ![]() I knew they would be taken well care of because my mom was coming to stay at our house all week to watch them. And if any of you read my trip report you know the drama I had with boarding them, so this was a huge relief. I drove to the airport while Bo slept. He had worked a 12 hour shift that night so he was tired and grumpy. But he couldn't kill my Disney buzz, I was so escited. He really was glad to be getting away too, but the tiredness took over. It took us only 45 minutes to get to the airport. We did the curbside check in and the guy at the counter saw our DME tags and said "Going to Disney?" I said "Yes, sir!". The plane was on time and before I knew it we were boarding. We flew Southwest and experienced their new boarding procedure. Very interesting. I had checked in online so it was no sweat for us. There was the cutest little girl sitting in front of us with her parents. She was probably 3 years old. They let her have the window seat and she kept exclaiming, "AYA PANE!!" She loved it! Bo slept the whole flight while I did my word search and listened to my Ipod. It's a pretty short flight, only about an hour and 20 minutes. ![]() ![]() I could tell it was a beautiful day when we arrived at MCO. Our adventure had begun! Day 1, part II next...

I followed you over here from your Pre-Trip report! Poor DH who started the vacation on little rest - hopefully that did not affect the trip and he had enough energy!
Looking forward to hearing more.

Great start, I can't wait to read more! Your dog is adorable - I love the bow...I just got a Yorkie Poo and she was groomed the other day. Her bow lasted about two hours and she eventually scratched it right off!
