?? & strategy for Target Black Friday

OK, I've never gone out for the early bird stuff on BF before. I've been out in the afternoon/evening just because, but never for something specific. I have a Target within walking distance, they open at 6:00 a.m. for BF. All I want is the Lego City set they've got, no other toys or electronics. Do I have any chance of getting one?? Are things like this really limited too? I know a lot of the electronics stuff is a doorbuster in a lot of stores, with limited supplies. Do I need to be in line at 4:00 a.m.?? Or can I get there closer to when they open?? I'm just looking for some idea of what my best chances are... TIA!

I went 2 years ago for a Lego item that was half price. Got there about 20 minutes before opening. Skipped the cart and went straight to the back and had no problem getting one. Of course the next day I went to a different Target and they still had several on the shelf, so it turned out I didn't need to get up at all. Not that I advise that, but I think if you get there a little before opening, you won't have any problems. I have been known to go the evening before Thanksgiving to make sure of where they are and that they have a few in stock.

I think you'll be fine to get there at 6. We typically go to walmart first and get to target right around 6 and usually get what we want, with the exception of some electronics. I've seen the shelves empty of certain items, adn then later seen employees restocking the shelves. So if you dont' see it, ask!

Go buy it now and then take your receipt back to the customer service counter on Friday during the sale hours for a price adjustment. That way you don't have to get up at the butt crack of dawn for one toy.

No, but Target does. I do it every year. Free's up time for shopping elsewhere at the start of the black friday sales.

Remember, too, that some stores also price match the exact same item if you have the ad with you when you're shopping. I do this at Walmart.

DOUBLE CHECK THAT ONE!! The one near us has changed their return policy and that will not be allowed on Friday here. So before you buy it make sure you will be able to price adjust.

Also alot of the items used as doorbusters are special in that they are not normally carried/include a promo/or are otherwise different which means they are NOT the exact same they are selling on the shelf which means they will NOT be pricematched...

I've checked the BF ad, and know what I want to buy. I'm going to Target tomorrow to buy everything and will have them adjust my receipt on Friday or Saturday.

NO.

In fact, I was at Best Buy this afternoon, and overheard a salesperson telling another customer in great detail how they would match anything except doorbusters and would be price matching other stores as well. As I was checking out, I asked about the policy (it was some sort of asst. manager, not sure how high up) and was told that they were absolutely NOT adjusting their receipts or price matching this weekend.

But at Target, they will.

I went to Target yesterday and spent $150 on BF stuff. I will be getting $100 back for a price adjustment this weekend and will not wait in line!

I have gotten a price adjustment at Target on Black Friday too. Last year in the coupon toy book they sent out there was one for a scooter. Then the BF price on the scooter was even lower than that. So, I went in hoping to just get the difference. The ended up giving me the price difference between the scooter price before BF and the scooter price on BF and still applied the coupon. I tried to tell her I thought that was too much but she said no it wasn't.
