Just back from CSR 10/3 to 10/11

We're back and had a fabulous time! The DME went so smoothly, we were very impressed. They had us at the resort within maybe 45 minutes of landing at MCO. Check-in was very quick with hardly anyone there at 4pm. I think we had a newer CM as he had to ask for help a couple times, but he handled my requests well and I almost got exactly what I wanted I had hoped for Cabanas with a king, but ended up in Casitas 5 with a king. It was a nice walk to El Centro, nice and close to the quiet pool and laundry but a bit of a hike to the Dig Site.

There were a couple of large conventions going on during our stay but they had virtually no impact on us. It was sometimes a bit jarring to see a crowd of people let out of a meeting all dressed in business attire clutching their cells, but that was all. We really didn't see what all the fuss about conventioneers is We never heard any noise in the room except occasionally at night the clicking of heels on the walkways.

Our room was very comfortable and we LOVED the king sized bed. The mattress was soft and we had loads of pillows. Housekeeping was very good and with the exception of the first day, they were in and out by 2pm. I left a note the first day asking for a few more hangars and when I got back, my hangar collection had exploded

The Pepper Market was great and we had breakfast there several times and lunch once (we were on the DDP). The staff was very friendly and attentive and seemed happy to answer and questions we had about the food. We ate at the Maya Grill one night and it was delicious but we found the service there to be very slow and a bit rude. Our original waiter asked us if we were on the DDP, took our order and passed us off to another waiter (I heard him say "YOU can take their table"). At any rate, the food was good and we were seated without an ADR.

The resort transport system (the little trolley's... what do you call those?) worked well and we were often asked if we wanted a lift when one was traveling the same direction we were. The bus service was excellent as well and our stop (stop 2) was the first one picked up and dropped off which was nice We took a cab several times from El Centro and that was easily done. All we had to do was tell the fellow manning the front door what we needed and he waved one forward from the lot nearby. It was about $10 from CSR to the Poly and to the AKL and $8 to ASM (going from memory here! )

The laundry room was serviceable and nicely located near the quiet pool. Each load cost $2/wash (cycle was about 30 min) and $2/dry (cycle was approx 45 min). They have a machine that dispenses soap but since I brought my own I didn't take notice of the cost. Not sure how well maintained the machines are though, one dryer worked well but the other (same settings and time) barely did a thing

I'll be happy to answer any questions about the resort. We loved it and would stay there again in a heartbeat

Thanks for your detailed review of the CSR. It made us feel as if we were there again. It is our absolute favorite and can't wait until our return free dining trip there in Septembe r2008 for our 25th wedding anniversary.

I'm at CSR right now. It's a lovely resort, but I hate the a/c system. The a/c shuts off when you leave the room and doesn't come back on till 45 minutes after you re-enter it. We are so hot. It shuts off during the night when there's no movement in the room. I was at Boardwalk Inn in July and we did not have this over there. And last year we were at POFQ and the a/c was fine. Is it just over here that they have this type of setup?? We leave on Saturday and I can't wait to get back home to a cold room!
