How much to charge for books at a garage sale?

Hard back and soft back? Thanks!

BTW- I hope I'm not overpricing everything for this sale. I figure if it looks like stuff is getting overlooked, it's easier to mark down than up!

I would agree with this. Priced as above for each item but you could maybe put up a sign on the paperbacks .50 each or 3/$1 as well to move them and not have to deal with change so much. When I have a yard sale I try to keep it strictly a paper sale - meaning dollars received only. I will take change and I have change on hand but I try to make it easier for people to think they are getting a deal by taking 1 or 2 more items off my hand and making it an even sale vs. having to make change.

I agree with this! I always make deals on items that are under $1. Usually on .25 items, I will say "or 5 for $1" and people will usually buy 5. Same with books. Paperbacks .50 or 3 for $1 and Hardbacks $1 each or 6 for $5. You will move merchandise if people they are getting an even better deal.
