The WDW Girly Tour -POFQ
Thought I would give you a brief review of our lovely hotel Port Orleans french Quarter. As soon as we pulled up in the towncar i knew i would love it here
It was so pretty, full of charm and character. Lots of brickwork and dark green wrought iron, fountains, courtyards, so clean and tidy, an intimate vibe, and nothing was too far away from anywhere. The CMs were all friendly and helpful, the shop had everything you could possibly want, from park merchandise, hotel merchandise, plenty of snack foods, wines, beers, and those crucial extras like asprin etc. While the food court wasn't huge, we never had a probelm finding somewhere to sit, and the choice of food suited me fine. what i sampled i loved including taco salad, cooked breakfast, and burgers. The bar next door had some great cocktails and the bartender would have been happy to chat for hours. The pool was a moderate size and i think on a busy day may have got quite full but we were lucky again and managed to get loungers the one time we made it there. carly was the only one brave enough to review the pool slide and gave this the thumbs up too. Behind the pool we could see the sassagoula river and this was truly beautiful scenery. I saw a couple of boats pull in to go to Downtown Disney but sadly we never took advantage of these.Room wise I was very impressed. I much preferred the decor here to Coronado Springs, more classy, dark blues and creams, and there was plnty of room for 3 adults, the dual sinks were vital though as we took up every inch of counter space, 3 girls= many containers and hair bits the dividing curtain was a blessing too as it allowed us all some privacy for changing or just to have a bit of light at night without keeping others awake. The only possible negative here concerns bus transport. Buses were always prompt, we never waited very long, nor were they really overcrowded (apart from coming back from Magic kingdom a couple of times) but the loop to go round PO Riverside was annoying at times. It did add time to the journey and sometimes we just wanted to get there or get home. It wouldn't put me off though, although it certainly put Michelle off POR, as sometimes the buses got so full when they got there, that they didn't bother going to all the stops, and it made us realise how big POR was in comparison to POFQ. I liked the size a lot of POFQ. Some pics for you: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Wow wonderful pictures you took. I am so relieved that there was no pic of me in my swim suit
It was so hot that afternoon walking by the river. It was so pretty. Why did it rain that night. I loved the hotel too. It was so pretty. I am so pleased we stayed here. Admittedly I was concerned staying here before we left, but also excited. I love surprises. I didnt want to see PORR, but after seeing it I did not want to stay there. I didnt like the theme. I certainly didnt like the size. Thankfully I saw the hotel before hand. I have now changed the hotel for our Dec trip. I loved POFQ and I wish my family would be able to fit in here. If Bruce and I were alone I would stay here. It was so pretty and well kept. The pool was lovely warm. That was one of the best afternoons we had. Sipping cocktails by the pool side.

We have stayed at both POR and POFQ and loved them both. The photos bring back great memories. We used the boat to DTD many nights but I remember we had to get the bus back as it was always too late for the boat.
Michelle, where are you staying in December? You must be getting really excited as we have just gone into October, another month nearer. Not long now. Again thank you both Claire and Michelle for these fantastic reports. susan

Thanks for sharing your hotel review, Claire. I have to say that sharing buses with another resort has always put me off PO, but it doesn't sound like it was too bad.
