Can someone please help me with April/May crowds.

Hi

As part of my dilema over whether to do Disney or Universal first, I am just wondering whether there will be much difference in how busy the 10 day periods are from 21st and 26th April? Think most of the spring break/easter break crowds should be away by the 21st April, but do you think it will be a lot busier than leaving it to 5 or 6 days later? Going to stay in a Universal resort for 5/6 days, so will get front of line passes, so might work around disney crowds if there is going to be a significant difference?

Thanks!

Easter Sunday is 23rd March next year and Spring Break will almost certainly co-incide with that for most schools. I would have thought the crowds will have returned to low levels well before your dates, so I can't see it making much difference. After Easter, the next major holiday is Memorial Day on 26th May.

Thats good news. Thanks for your help. Have you any idea of average wait times at Disney at this time of year?

Once the Easter and Spring Break crowds have died down, its one of the most quiet times to visit, and one of the best weather-wise, too .

Hi

We were over there this year around that time arrived on the 13th and left 26th April. I would say the queues where busier on our last day than ever I would say in Disney parks estimated ride wait times where around 1 hr wait. Universal was great though the most we waited was about 15 mins max that was in our second wk too.

I think this April is rather uncertain territory, since Easter is in March, as are most of the US spring breaks from what I can see... BUT most of the UK schools have their Easter hols in April this year and a lot of people (us included) are taking advantage of that to go in the hopes it won't be too busy so there will be an awful lot of Brits there!

Having said that I think it's mostly the first 2 weeks of April so by the last week things should have quietened down.

We're going 3-17 April and I'm just hoping it won't be too mobbed!!

Although Easter is in March next year school hols are still in April. We were there 28 april for 14 nts disney was so quiet we didn't wait any longer than 20mins never used FP once. The only time parks were busy was MK on our last day as it was their mothers day weekend - never want to experience that crowd level ever again.
We went this time in 01 also and it was exactly the same.

I am going 30th march to 13th April and I'm hoping for fairly manageable crowds too.
Heres a link to a poll - http://www.disboards.com/showthread....reak+2008+poll
Most UK schools are off either from w/c 24th March for two weeks or from w/c 7th April for two weeks. I went in April 2005 from 8th to 22nd (Easter was in March that year too) and it was fine. The first week was quiet and it got busier towards the end of week two.
Hope thats helpful!

According to the Unofficial Guide's website (touring plans), up until Monday 21st April, the crowd levels are predicted to be mostly 7s or 8s (with the odd 6 and 9 thrown in). According to their website, an 8 means peak waits of 75-84 minutes. Personally, as we are going from 10th to 24th, I am hoping it won't be as bad as predicted but I guess we just have to wait and see

Orlando welcomes in excess of 50 million visitors a year and only around one million of them are from the UK, so our school holidays don't really impact crowd levels (although, of course, they do make a difference to flights and prices).

Is this a website i dont know of ?

been reading around and so many conflicting views, most usa schools seem to be off in March and with only a few in April (around 17th-25th), so hoping it will not be to bad going by what they all saying , but like you say, we will have to wait and see....

We still gonna wave to you on the plane wilma

Should be quite easy - I reckon, from what you said about where you're sitting, we should be directly opposite each other
