Military salute

Is anyone having trouble booking the new military discount? I've called maybe four times and waited for over an hour, either they don't know about it they or said there's none available. I am very grateful every year they renew, never had a problem calling and booking something. at least in the same category I would want. I know they aren't completely sold out because their shows rooms available, I also understand that there's only so many discounts available. I literally called the moment Of press release and then again yesterday and today. Eventually I'll except that there just is no discount available but today I still feel like I'm missing something or is disney?! Any one out there with luck or same troubles?

I called 2 hours after it was released and they were very close to being sold out for my dates. We had to choose a different hotel but we did get a room. I think people will start canceling in a few weeks. Although it did cross my mind that they are releasing very limited availability, maybe it's the beginning of phasing out this discount but that is pure speculation on my part.

When are you going? We are looking at the end of October and it seems October and November sold out first. I think once school schedules start we will see a few cancellations if not sooner.

What are your dates? It seems many ppl had trouble booking the salute discount for oct. and nov. Even ppl who called in right way. So for those dates the availability must have been very small. Ppl with dates in dec. and after have been more successful I think. It's unclear whether they will open up more rooms for the discount or not. Def. keep trying! Especially try at 45 days out as ppl who have a package must be paid in full or cancel by then! Good luck!!

It took me 4 times calling to,successfully book a room. The last cm on the phone was awesome! I could not get WL for our dates but was able to get the BC CL instead! The available rooms were very slim.

I was on the phone with the CM when she received the email by the time she went to check the system she said they only had 3 rooms left at the Pop during our stay, so i'm guessing they didn't offer that many military room discounts in October.

It must be your dates of travel. We called the day the Salute renewal came out and had our pick of moderates for next June. Then, we called back yesterday and switched our dates to May (and added a night) with no problems. We were on hold for about 30-35 minutes when we called yesterday.

We were only able to book @ Saratoga Springs. We're not overly excited about staying there, but at 40% off, we're thrilled to be able to take the trip and stay onsite in a 2br villa for little more than what we would pay for a value. Our poor TA tried so many split stay combinations for us, and I called Disney myself to try to save her some time, but with free dining having opened up so much earlier, more rooms were booked earlier, so there was no need to offer as many rooms on other discounts as previously.

We were sad to not get what we wanted, and I do think it's possible that they're paring down the promotion in preparation to either drop the discount % or discontinue it altogether; however, we're grateful for the opportunity to have gotten the great discounts for as long as we've had, and we'll happily take what we can get

I've been calling relentlessly and today I got a room!! Saved $200 with salute. I've had my heart set on movies and we got it! I know they are under refurbishment but we don't eat at the food court anyways so it works!!

Keep trying, they probably hadn't loaded all the rooms!

We are only looking for a specific room, either military discount or the ro discount...in November, set dates, ughhhh. I never had issues last year but this year is quite stressful. My TA said that none of her clients who wanted the Contemporary got it.

well I will say that I talk to at least five cast members who tried to help me get the discount and they all told me they were completely sold out. Today there were several openings, I wouldn't get your hopes up quite yet

I had no luck when I called about 10 minutes after it was renewed. We are staying at WL Nov 15-22. I would have taken anything near MK but none of them were available I just plan on calling back every few days and hopefully I'll get lucky
